    Best 3rd Party GC Controller?

    Definitely buy official. Don't know exactly the price range you're looking for, but I've had my Japanese white one for 10 years and out still works great. It's my ultimate controller now since I upgraded to a custom one for melee.

    I'm definitely a melee player, but I will at least give the newer ones a fair shot. Ultimate is definitely onto something, but nowhere near as fun as melee to play to me. 4 was boring on all levels. Brawl was terrible unless it was PM. I do have fun playing Ultimate, but there are many factors...

    Name choosing

    Mine is actually Gladiator, but when I put it up on the in game name, I use GB (I'm a long time Yugioh player) so it's a bit of an inside joke for me and a few friends.

    I used a Japanese white since 2008 to earlier this year when I bought a customized controller. The white one still works great.

    Well how far is your tech skill? There is a point where you get worse at the game. Playing people without tech skill is completely different because they do things you don't expect since it's usually bad, or just only used in rare cases in the competitive scene

    I started with Fox because that's who I played in 64 (all before I learned about tech skill). I then picked up Marth because dude was cool af with that sword and started learning the technical play. Now I'm back to Fox again with tech skill
