    Counter point; use Command Select as a feint of sorts to bait them into rushing in and go from there. Hell, if Flame/Kakrackle Slash pops up in the top in the top option, let them rush you and smack them with it.

    My immediate feeling was that he felt like Smash 4 Shulk. Which is to say, a totally unique take on a swordsman character with a high skill floor and ceiling, but who is held back by clunky implementation of his mechanics and subpar frame data.
