Enemy Of The Federation - Sylux for Smash Ultimate (DLC)

His cameo at the end of Federation Force sealed the deal for me. This is a character that the director of MP4 is interested in, and it's a character that has been recently brought back to the forefront of the franchise. It's not really a question of whether he'll have a role in MP4, but whether...

Discussion of Stage Legality in Smash Bros. Ultimate

These guys are doing it right. Start with a generous stagelist and remove stages that prove untenable. Also loving how they're handling counterpicks

Discussion of Stage Legality in Smash Bros. Ultimate

Personally, I'm less interested in the number of stages and more in the quality of stages. So long as we have a minimum 4-5 neutrals and 4-5 counterpicks, I'm happy. My primary concern is quality. If we can't have a gigantic stage pool, then I want the absolute best quality possible. Fixed...

Discussion of Stage Legality in Smash Bros. Ultimate

We have additional information from all the gameplay footage that we got today. Custom rulesets can be given custom names. This means that it's literally two clicks to turn of fhazards, and iirc there is an indicator on the stage select screen that tells whether hazards are on or off.

Discussion of Stage Legality in Smash Bros. Ultimate

See, that's the part I have an issue with. It's incredibly presumptuous to tell the majority of the community that they can't handle selecting a single option and default to not even testing it before deciding that it's just too hard. Forcing static hazards off both shrinks the potential stage...

Discussion of Stage Legality in Smash Bros. Ultimate

Except it's not really that hard. Create two custom rule presets for hazards on and hazards off, pick appropriately. There's an indicator on the stage select screen that shows whether hazards are on or off, so there's no reason people will accidentally pick the wrong one. In the end, it is...

Discussion of Stage Legality in Smash Bros. Ultimate

With regards to the controversy surrounding mixed hazards, the big issue (or how I perceive it at least) is that TOs are defaulting to the option that is the most convenient for them at the expense of what the community clearly wants without even trialing hazards first. It makes them appear...

Masked Marauders - Skull Kid For Smash! Night of the Last Day.

Isabelle only furthers the odds imo. Yet another missing AT promoted to fighter.

Sexism in smash bros in general and character design:

I think this nicely encapsulates my feelings on all this. When people claim that video games cause violence, I can at least see the connection. The player is being rewarded in-game for performing a certain action. Decades of research prove that this doesn't translate to real life, but it's not...

So what do you think of Ridley's body shape/proportions now?

In the Metroid manga, Ridley says that he can regenerate himself by consuming flesh. My new headcanon is that Ridley's body can partially cannibalize itself to survive near-death situations, but he ends up smaller as a result. Every time he seemingly comes back from the dead, he has to eat a...

Rate Their Chances - Smash Ultimate Edition! Day 672: Five Most Likely First and Third Parties for Smash 6, and Final Goodbyes

Skull Kid - 90% chance, 100% want Skull Kid has got quite a few things going for him at this point. We've lacked a proper new Zelda rep since 2001, the longest gap of any major Nintendo franchise. Majora's Mask has seen a resurgence in recent years. The 3DS remake was super relevant in 2016...

Where would you guess Ridley would be Tier wise?

Here's a little thought experiment I just came up with: put Ridley's strength, speed, and recovery on a character with an average size hurtbox. How broken is that character?

Unpopular Smash Ultimate Opinions! - Read the OP before Posting

Banjo and Rayman have basically 0% chance. Too many people forget about how licensing works. Nintendo has to reach an agreement with the company, and that includes both royalties and stipulations about the character. For example, Nintendo has to pay Capcom royalties for Smash 4, and Capcom gets...
