History of ultimate Ike's tier placement

I think Ike is going to need a secondary to cover some match-ups, have a feeling his up b recovery is going to be exploitable by some characters that might jump tiers later in the game's cycle that can gimp Ike (i.e. Megaman is has a lot of undiscovered tech, and the charged smash and gimp). If...

    Instant R.A.R Tech

This works with tilt stick. I've been practicing and it's pretty strict timing (2 frame), but seems like it could be usuable with the right amount of drilling in training for muscle memory. Basically push the sticks both in or away and press jump immediately after to get the instant rar...

    Side B

Ike: Sakurai viewed the Fire Emblem series as a big franchise when making Smash 64 and Melee, and in a way, he proved himself correct; Marth and Roy’s popularity in Melee gave Nintendo of Amerca justification to finally bring the series to the west with Fire Emblem on the GBA. Just like Kirby...

    Instant R.A.R Tech

I'd love to know if there is anyway to utilize this to buffer pivot bair from throw. Or if you just have to time the execution of this technique on the first active frames you have from throwing.. (ike main trying to get easier down throw pivot bairs :) )

    Instant R.A.R Tech

Hey you above ^! You are thinking too hard about the inputs related to the normal RAR. i.e. Left Stick towards opponent, mash Left Stick Away, Jump, C Stick towards opponent. This new tech utilizes some weird combination of buffer + short hop mechanics and jump canceling tilt animation to have...

Ike Frame Data *Hopefully sticky one day

Well definitely going to have to redo this, but thinking it'll still be of value so long as I accurately account for as-fast-as-possible dodge inputs as you've suggested. For example, I've noticed that for upthrow, there are no true combos into shorthop nair at any % when player is dodging as...

Ike Frame Data *Hopefully sticky one day

Testing everything here... Ike Up Throw on a 20% Chrom, from first frame of Up throwing beginning to Chrom hitting floor is 85 frames till Chrom touches the floor again if no one does anything. Now with buttons pressed: Frames 0-49 Ike is stuck in the throwing up animation (chrom stuck...

Ike Frame Data *Hopefully sticky one day

Hey san. thanks for response, can you elaborate on that? In training I would ensure that the throw (2-hit) would combo into the 3rd hit of whichever aerial for 3 hit combo. And if it wasn't 3 hit (and only 2) it wasn't a true combo. I.e Up-Throw Fullhop Fair only has about 2 frames of...

Ike Frame Data *Hopefully sticky one day

Hey all, begun to unleash my full nerd and start labbing some data for Ike's bread and butter combos. For whatever reason I started with data based on up throw + aerials, but plan to expand this in the future to other relevant combos for Ike. https://imgur.com/a/LZt243V Wanted to put this out...

Full Hop + Aerial as fast as Possible despite Buffer/Shortcut Shop Aerial Input?

So I believe if I'm understanding correctly, you literally cannot input an instant full Hop + aerial because of the short hop aerial shortcut system - correct? Because of this then... The fastest input you can achieve for a full hop + aerial is frame 0 for jump input, then 4 frames for holding...

    Covering Ledge Recovery

Thanks Mario & Arrei for the tips so far.. So if I'm understanding correctly on the standard getup... I have a 2 frame window where I can jab (which I can already tell you from experience can't be spammed since Ike's jab 1 is too slow on repeat)... but to my point: If they buffer a shield grab...

    Covering Ledge Recovery

I'm finding myself in the same aggravating scenario over and over with Ike: I can get a read on the opponent's ledge recovery option but never know what the proper punish is... Feels like it's like me playing rock paper scissors, I can condition them /read that they'll throw scissors (but I...

Wood Man's Treehouse: A Leaf Shield Guide

I think the next step here is to take videos of the applicable techniques or try to draw lines to reality/matchups. (i.e. Ganondorf/Falcon are often low recovering opponents that can be leafshield footstooled. Don't bother trying to leafstool X because their recovery will beat it)
