I don't disagree there at all. I was merely speaking about the DLC cycle starting from Joker and not so much the base phase where, as you say, there was a lot more discussion on first-parties and whatnot.

To be fair, when 2/3 out of the full DLC lineup are third-parties, you can't expect people to favor Nintendo's own characters over the guests with bigger drawing power.

Long story short, it has to do with the fact that you gotta have a really good internet connection just to play them. Also, when Capcom tried it with RE7 it wound up being a commercial failure. It doesn't have to affect you, but it certainly doesn't bode well for a lot of people.
