The next Generation: Pokemon X and Y confirmed

I am so unbelievable excited about this game. Fennekin pretty much looks like my ideal starter, although that hedgehog looking grass starter seems kind of cool also. I'd be interested to see what their final evolutions are, and what the dual possible typings turn out to be. The 3d is...

    Need Desktop Help

You're computer probably came with one or more CD's with Windows XP on them. Find those CD's, put the first one in the disc drive, restart your computer and boot from the disc. Follow the instructions to reinstall Windows. That or something similar should work for what you're asking to do. But...

    How Soccer is Killing America

Well, let's face it: all sports are terrible in comparison to hockey. Soccer, baseball, football, basketball...they all pale in comparison. Oh, and that article is almost painful to read. I'm not too sure about this Wabash College, but a professor who espouses beliefs like that would not be...

    Canadian Words!

But Curling is huge in some parts of the US also (read: MN and ME).

    Is Rock dead/dying?

This thread is hilarious. Music is doing just fine these days, especially rock (whatever that means...). Like everyone said, you just need to expand your horizons, and stop listening to terrestrial radio. Here's some suggestions: Open up a new tab in your browser, and point your compuzoid at...

    Canadian Words!

Washroom for bathroom. Cutlery instead of silverware. Kraft Dinner instead of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese (but that's a brand name I guess) ...that's about all I've got. But I'm not sure some of the others listed are valid. Mayonnaise doesn't strike me as particularly Canadian (in fact, I just...

    The Metric System

Well, I use both the metric system and the imperial system in everyday life. They both have their uses. True, most Americans learn the imperial system better by the virtue that it's what is mostly used in this country, but I'm real familiar with the metric system after years of science classes...

    navidad

¡Feliz navidad a todos! Oye, livan, tu párafo en castellano tiene mucho más sentido que lo inglés. Pero el sentimiento de la temporada está bien evidente en cualquier idioma. Should we also add Frohe Weihnachten to the list?

    12/21 Hanukkah: first day.

It is spelled with a C sometimes; it just depends on how you want to transliterate חנוכה from Hebrew to an English approximation. Oh, and I guess I missed that part about the case earlier because it was after the parentheses.

    12/21 Hanukkah: first day.

Why on Earth would anyone need two iPods? That just seems a little redundant to me.

    Baby!

I'd be pretty careful naming your child some of those names. Klavier just means piano in German, plus it's not even a masculine noun...it's neuter. Kristoph could be okay, but only if you have some German ancestry to back it up. Frodo is a terrible name for a kid. I echo Darkslash's sentiments...

    internet speeds

Here's the speed from my apartment. I've been pretty happy with the speed since we set up the internets two weeks ago, but I didn't realize it was quite this fast. Sometimes it gets a little bogged down sharing between the 10 of us, but for now I'm the only one home.

Let's talk about tattoos and piercings

Good idea for a topic! I'm free of piercings and tattoos at the moment, but I've been trying to decide what exactly I want for a tattoo for the last couple of months or so. The urge to get a tattoo came on suddenly and almost out of nowhere back in March or so, and I've been mulling it over...

    Post-Rock

I think I own a copy of Sigur Rós's ( ) somewhere, but I can't find it at the moment. I really gave them a try a couple of years ago when that album came out, but after listening to them for awhile I never really got into them. Which is weird, because it seems like the type of music I might...

    Pick-up Basketball

Well, I know next to nothing about pickup basketball, but judging from my knowledge of pond hockey and street hockey (which are pretty similar to pickup basketball in many regards), there probably is no standard procedure. It would depend upon who you're playing with, and how much of a stickler...
