Dateline, some time in 1996...or was it 1997? I was about six years in staying with my foster family just outside downtown atlanta, and we sometimes did our laundry at a laundromat about a block or two away from us. That laundromat had a street fighter 2 arcade cabinet, but I simply just watched the attract mode, rarely attempting to play. Same **** with tekken 3, tekken tag tournament, tekken 4 in later years. Ah, but tekken 5 dark resurrection, which I found an arcade cabinet in downtown atlanta in 2014, is the real exception, but I digress. Me and my stepbrother and stepsister used to own it in 1999-2002, as did my stepcousins. My stepcousins also played street fighter alpha 3, and I played that a bit most times I visted them. Needless to say, they no longer have that. So, since 2002, I sorta forgot about street fighter--and tekken, for that matter--since smash bros. series was my new love.

Fast forward 21 years later to today...while I was away, I got inquisitive and watched a bit of street fighter gameplay on youtube...on dspgaming's channel of all places, lulz! And yes, I found it hilarious to watch dsp rage.

Anyways...while watching his content, some of the characters in sf6 interested me, especially marisa because she a big girl with her size bearing comparison to . The avatar creator would of sold me, but too bad their use is limited to world tour and battle hub, two modes I am unlikely to touch. Oh well, soulcalibur's character creation is better anyway, and I do not even use that very often.

For the time being though, I might start with the 30th anniversary collection and work my toward street fighter 4, then street fighter 5, and finally, street fighter 6 over time as a ps5 is well outside my budget at the moment.

Now smash, soulcalibur, and tekken are good, but time to challenge myself and try something new. I shall admit, I was a masher at it back in the day. But this time, I am willing to know much more than I did in those time periods.

It has been quite a long time since I showed y'all some of my miis of myself in smash, but now I created myself in soulcalibur 3. Excuse me for the crappy quality there. I use the styles of sophitia and cassandra for the chinese dress costume and the style of seong mi-na for my kimono outfit.




Now over to my soulcalibur 4 self. I only use soul of sophitia and I have a sky blue variant of my chinese dress. In fact, my design is based off of my girl, anna, from tekken. I put myself in the games to pick on taki and setsuka because I hate them both with a passion. Oh, and alpha patroklos in sc5 in particular can go **** himself; I hate him even more than those two combined. And haohmaru in sc6 is starting to grind my gears. But I digress...

I plan on showing and telling some of my custom characters from soulcalibur 5 and soulcalibur 6 another day.

ひとつ - I love how I went to work the polls this past tuesday and the substitute principal of the elementary school where I work the polls treated me and my co-workers to some breakfast that came from wendy's.

みっつ - I had a dream where was playing soulcalibur 6. He loved grøh's fighting style so much he asked sakurai to give him some of grøh's moves for his move set for the next smash.

Okay, so I have been listening to that song essence from wizkid for about three to four hours on repeat for the past three days...and at about a half pitch higher, I might add. Idk about y'all, but the music sounds better like that. That might become my new theme music. Now, music from the 1970s is great, and the 1970s was and still is my glory decade, but we are in the new school now.

That leads me to Black Sophitia Fact #100: I tend to like music that uses the semitones and notes of that song I am starting to love. I have the propensity to get odd visions ranging from fighters flying to a star k.o. or screen k.o. after getting hit by suicune's aurora beam, especially if it was a character who stays silent after such a k.o., such as my girl . It also makes me visualize turning on mario kart 64 and playing on rainbow road, even though I have never once touched that track. Other visions include flying over the lake in royal raceway and flying through the glider portions of many different tracks in mk8d.

ひとつ - Now, why did I pick black sophitia as my username? ひとつ, I am african-american (duh), and ふたつ, I main sophitia in soulcalibur and co-main cassandra. I just have a soft spot for ladies that can wield swords.
ふたつ - I sometimes wonder, will there ever be an end to these "who should I main" posts?
みっつ - I am of the personal opinion that I like how fighters, when they get sent flying over the upper blast zone, are k.o.'d as if they were sent into any other blast zone. I tell you what, it can get a bit tiresome hearing everyone's star k.o. screams sometimes.

I was a bit hesitant posting this as was a bit indisposed, btw.

About that recent nintendo direct...Yay to pauline being confirmed for mario kart 8 deluxe! As for peachette...I say meh. Aside from that, and funky kong are cool with me.

ひとつ - This month, I have decided to return to tekken series with a renewed mind. I quit almost a year ago since practicing juggles can get frustrating sometimes. And after discovering tekken 8 has an avatar creator, I had to come back. I hope it ain't like street fighter 6 where the use of them is limited to world tour and online. That said, still awaiting the confirmation of my main girl, anna.

ふたつ - I often visualize as the background narrator when I get to a tekken title screen. He says in the background, "Welcome to Tekken (insert numbered installment here/Tag Tournament/Tag Tournament 2)!" "Select your fighter!", etc. and like that.
