Why were you using Jab and f-tilt both of those moves are fairly useless, f-tilt is situationally ok but Jab is just bad. I don't know how you play falco and Roy but speaking from personal experience, falco and Fox require a much higher apm then Roy does, like roy needs to SHFFL and dash dance...

Yah after a while the group died out and people stopped being active. Making a new discussion group would be a good idea and I'd suggest using discord as it is better than skype for a number of reasons.

I think something that could be the most helpful to Roy is side-bing the missiles because the gets rid of them without taking the full explosion, while it does put Roy in a lot of hit stun it's a nice alternative to perfect sheidling
