I know Fox players who prefer smash stick so they never miss an up smash input but I personally use tilt stick so I can get running tilts.

I understand the frustration with zoning but this game isn't as projectile heavy as you make it out to be. A lot of characters (even with projectiles) have the tools needed to deal with fireballs. Mario is great up close and has the cape to deal with zoning. Fox has a reflector to deal with...

I'm hesitant to legalize a 10 stage list with only 2 bans due to the strength of camping heavy characters on so many stages. 2 bans means a zoner can go to one of T&C, Kalos or Altar as a CP. Ultimate isn't optimized to a point where these stages are "free wins" but in a 2/3 set any unavoidable...

As someone who has to deal with the dry Socal stage list (BF FD SV T&C PS and Kalos) I'm curious how you guys would revise this list. I personally wouldn't mind playing on Lylat for the bizarre layout but I don't really know what other regions are running...

You could always pick up Palutena. She covers a lot of bad mus, still has a solid zoning playstyle and is easy to pick up.

I imagine Samox would be the best person to contact for that info. I doubt the original John is still active in the community, but you never know :P

I know a few people on Etsy who make custom Gamecube controller buttons that are pretty great but I don't know about overseas manufacturers. I suggest sticking with those who have solid reputations for purchasing custom parts.

Slightly off topic but aside from the US, EU and Japan, what are some other regions that have strong smash scenes? Does anyone have the connections needed to talk to, say, Korean or Filipino players? What do their metas look like?

I enjoy your point about volatility because it's an effective way to describe matchups outside of spread. I like to use mirror matches to explain volatility: the difference between melee Fox dittos and melee Samus dittos is that a mistake in one costs a stock but a mistake in the other costs...
