Just finished watching the Moon Knight behind the scenes documentary on Disney+ and honestly I wasn't that aware of how many practical effects, decorations and even locations they made for the show. Specially with all the little details connecting the episodes together.

Even the CGI characters such as Khonshu were done with the voice actors performing with costumes and all in person and with the CGI stuff added later in production. Quite the huge amount of work for a TV show.
Big props to all the people behind It all for putting so much effort and work into It. Hopefully these strikes help them out in gaining the money they deserve for such efforts.

Also, I can understand and respect why they stood away from some elements of the comics now that I've seen their reasoning: the fact the nature of Moon Knight is of a character surrounded by mystery and how much he and his identities have evolved and changed throught the years. Really helps the MCU version stand as, you know, a different version instead of a copy-paste of recent comic book versions, which is interesting.

Also found It interesting that the main critic certain assholes and dumbasses had with the show (the Scarlet Scarab) actually happened later in the development of the show as a sidething from the character played by the actress and the fact a Marvel Comics character happened to exist with the same name and fit the narrative. Which further makes the point that there's no agenda against men or any dumb thing like that as those assholes tend to claim.

Overall: a really great watch. Even if you didn't like the show (I personally find It to be the best Disney+ Marvel show), I suggest watching this documentary to understand the why and how each thing in the show was decided.

I had this dream last night I was on a Smashboards 16-bits JRPG, and everything was going as expected: farming EXP at the Creation and Social Thread, defeating enemies who were users breaking the rules and other common stuff from the site.

It all changed when I found myself in a place similar to the Origin Room from Pokémon DPPt's Spears Pillar, and I saw an user who I won't namedrop coming off as trans male.

Then the rest of the dream was my party members ( osby the mage , Noipoi the cool badass character, FazDude the crafter and the healer Wario Wario Wario ) defeating hordes of transphobes who were trying to attack the Origin Room person.

I woke up right before I was getting into a Sephiroth-style final boss against Benjamin Shamepiro.

Blue Beetle! I remember this character quite fondly. He was part of the main cast of that Batman cartoon I grew up with (Brave & The Bold) and I always found him really cool, brings me great memories. With that said, I never noticed until recent years the LATAM routes of the character, so my crush and I were really interested on this new live action movie due to how the marketing and the reviews we heard highlighted the closer look at the cultural side of the character.

And what can I say?... This movie is waaaaaay better than The Flash.
For starters, It feels like It actually has a purpose instead of being a random cameo-fest: there's a really powerful anti war/conquest message similar to Pinocchio by Guillermo Del Toro (although I do feel that movie was more powerful in the way they handled It, but Blue Beetle makes It work well too). It also has a really good family theme, with a lot of highlight being put into Blue Beetle's family and sharing the spotlight with the main hero.

Honestly, what I loved the most about the movie were both the cultural elements from South American tradition and the way It integrated elements both from the original Blue Beetle who did inspire the character of Night Owl in Watchmen, and the version of the character I grew up with which stars the movie. I feel It all felt really well integrated, and the pop culture references from South America felt really natural and reasonable (specially El Chapulín Colorado and María La Del Barrio).

Can't leave this review without mentioning something Cutie Gwen may likely be a big fan of: the final battle of the movie. Imo and also on the opinion of some partners from a Transformers Discord server, the final battle was Tokusatsu AF. I could really notice some really good Kamen Rider/Super Sentai inspirations on the coreography and the visual style. Which leads me to the CGI: It is better than The Flash but there are a few parts where It does seem kinda fake (but imo It really helps the Toku vibe I am talking about).


Overall, really fun and enjoyable movie. If you hated The Flash this movie may give you more hope about DC doing stuff right. As someone who grew up with this version of Blue Beetle I had a blast, and my crush even told me she almost cried with some scenes. Easily a 6.5/10.
