Posting this here because I'm genuiely concerned about how the people of the Social Thread would take It.
Episodes 4 and 5 of Wandavision have to be the biggest letdown I've seen on a TV show since my high school partners reacting to the end of Game Of Thrones back in the day.
For the people who don't have Disney+: imagine you were watching a normal Scooby Doo episode, when suddenly Scooby and the Gang get interrupted by some literal randoms we haven't seen before spoiling the audience the whole mystery of the episode and who the Guy behing the mask is. Just so then It cuts back to the gang trying to solve the mystery as if It was a normal episode (even though us as the audience already saw who the villain is).
Yes, episode 4 ruins the whole thing of the show that much. It is at a point where you can figure out everything which is going to happen. The only redeeming things from that episode were the acting and special effects, because everything else felt like filler created solely to pander to the people who complained about a lack of action.
Episode 5 is slightly better, but It still contains a really dumb scene where Wanda is about to look for a dog with her sons but suddenly as they close the door It cuts to the SWORD people and Wanda going to them without any mention of the kids. Just so after that It then cuts to Wanda and the kids looking for the dog as the scene was clearly intended to play out originally, a scene clearly added during reshoots yet again for the people who wrongly complained about a lack of action.
The only good things from the episode were the whole subplot with the kids and the dog, Vision's scenes and Evan Peters returning as Quicksilver.
So yeah, really dissapointed on Wandavision. The first three episodes were really great, but It seems that with episode four Marvel saw dumb people reacting to the trailers and saying "bruh, where's the action?" or "this show isn't like any of the movies" and they went like "oh crap, we need to add stuff so these people actually watch our thing" and added the pointless SWORD scenes and the aforementioned Episode 4. It shows with the marketing now too that they are trying to pander to those people.
Really sad, the show had a lot of potential, the actors were all doing a great job, I was digging the whole mood and the way the internet was speculating about the mystery as each episode dropped felt satisfying. It did feel at first like a needed breath of fresh air which the MCU would have benefitted with. But then Marvel Studios was forced into dumbing It down to please the people who weren't going to watch the show anyways. We were this close of having something at the level of the War of the Mushrooms from Adventure Time or Gravity Falls.
Sorry for the long post, but I really wanted to let these takes out with anyone. Always remember that there's nothing wrong if you happen to like the show (as I said, It does have a lot of merit despite the flaws).
