    Aether activating at range is actually a glitch, IIRC. If you go to the prison trial map in PoR you can attempt to break one of the doors with Ike and if Aether activates, it'll actually loop the animation for a minute or two before the door finally breaks.     It's not hitting the ground, it's just a downward swing really. All of the ranged sword animations are just the down swing animations for each unit. Also, your wording of hitting along the ground made me imagine Ike dragging Ragnell across the ground while sparks fly out of it.

    I also assume characters with insane magnets like Ganon can avoid it. I don't think I've ever hit a Ganon who recovered low with it, so I gave up on trying. So who else has insane magnets that can avoid it then?

    Forgot to mention that I'm talking about ftilt hitting a shield. Maybe something faster like jab or dtilt, or mix up between the three?

    So with Ike's ftilt sped up, is using two in a row good for trying to catch people to punish the first one or push them back to prevent a punish? Haven't exactly looked at its shield push.
