  • I was recommended to do so from Bowyer because they were not necessarily complete and it would help if they were added to the main guide. It might be best to discuss with him or other Jiggs board members what is best for your subcommunity.
Well, no. That would work in Melee, because it just makes each frame last four times as long, but in Brawl, the Havok Engine actually interpolates the frames, meaning you actually get extra frames that you wouldn't get in x1 speed. So it's actually useless to record at x1/4 or x1/2 speed when it comes to measuring frames. If you're using a 30fps capture card, though, you're probably capturing interlaced source, which you can then deinterlace with a field bob to separate the two fields in a frame into two frames for 60fps video.
But there are still a few things we need to discuss with the matchup, most notably, if she actually has something to get into a Pivot/Usmash defence. Testing, Rising Pound, It CAN be used to actually break in and do damage, but it requires too much positioning and spacing to do so, which can be ruined if Yoshi moves wheres you do not want him to move. At the end, it's more of a luck based approach than a reliable one

I am sure Jigglypuff has a reliable approach that can't be countered neither by Pivots or Usmash, but until she does, I can't say this matchup is anywhere near neutral. Maybe 60:40, But I believe it's drifting worse.

I am just as mad as you are on how the Thread turned out, but locking it was not the solution. I am also upset that the number one thing you should have been discussing was not discussed often at all by you guys and was most commonly ignored. All I am asking is to discuss with your mains about that defence and only that defence, and find someway to get into it. Even if Yoshi needs to use a different move (Egg's for example), It will still make Yoshi harder to keep a wall up due to looking out for more options.
I don't mind. I don't really say much unless I know my argument will win. Besides, discussions have gotten very far off. People are trying to get the precise number when it's not possible due to people having different playstyles and strategies. I just look at things I need to look out for and things I can capitalize on.
Yes, it's using virtualdub (Bob doubler filter). No the frames are not the same. Since only half of the screen is drawn each frame, recorded smash is only in 29.97, but it has 2 half frames per frame that are different. You just take these two half frames to double the frame rate and get 59.94 full fps.
You don't estimate. You DeInterlace the interlaced frames to a full 59.94fps and take a perfectly accurate measurement.
The thing about what people say is that they're taking the just of things from online. Burnstocks is probably the most credible person you can use (cause he's probably played a jiggs offline), and even his posts have limits. I'm not trying to down anything but you have to watch what you can use and not use.
It doesn't matter if it was red, we had no lag and the last two times you did it were right after you died...
I'm not sure if it's actually a great cp for that matchup because I haven't played that matchup there in many months, but I like it because I can generally avoid everything that would kill me at a low percent and just poke at them with pounds and grabs and I think the percent difference that rest kills at is more advantageous than the percent difference that G&W kills me at.
Yah, most TL's will try and avoid Fsmash against small characters. If they do, then obviously they'll be punished XD

I usually do upsmash or uair anyways.
Are you the only person on the Jigglypuff forums. All threads are started by you, and about half the post by you. Seriously.
Actually, It does mess up data if you do it that way. You need to capture it in 1x speed. Any Data with a camera is unreliable to start with. Capturing (with a capture card) in 30fps interlaced at 1x speed is enough to do it correctly though.
I finished falco... I'm not doing anything more with him other than getting footage (in a few days) to confirm my findings. I'd appreciate you reviewing it for accuracy.
    A
Its archiie! I stopped by like requested haha.
Sexy! Yeah, Jigglypuff boards aren't notorious for spam, like some of the other ones out there... dang Sonic mains.
It is! im shure of it. woody may be more powerful than we once thought. Im going to do some ladder matches tomorow xD
:( oh wellz, and yeah, he did rollout alot and shield grabs, but it was laggy so I think I got hit by every single rollout he did lmao. I think its the only way the douche managed to kill me -___-
I just lost to a jiggly puff on aib lmao, this guy woody.

I had no idea how to play that match up XD we're gonna need to play as soon as you get out here, make sure you get to one of sparrows bi weeklys, or if you come here before new years go to beezos.
That's kinda matchup and playstyle specific, but I'll try to give you generic times to do either Fairs or tilts.

Ftilt is used best to keep away SH approaches. If you're up against a Wario, a Fair happy Marth, or maybe even a ROB that likes to Fair, Ftilt breaks that habit and forces your opponent to stick to the ground, which you can also control.

Another generic Ftilt time would be when you wanna edgeguard with relative speed and strength. You could also use it for covering a FF aerial attempt by your opponent when you're juggling them to hit them off the stage to set up for edgeguards.

Utilt is good when an opponent is close and when you wanna juggle or kill. Otherwise it's pretty risky.

Dtilt is awesome. Dtilt should be mixed in with Fairs to control your opponent. Tippered Dtilt on a shield sets up a frame trap.

Fair should be used when you're uncertain of whether an opponent could SH or roll or whatever so you can cover as much ground as possible. SH double Fair shouldn't be used much though. SHFF Fair is too good though, and mixed in with Dtilt/first hit of DB is ****.

    Does any of this help?
