    Kirby General Discussion

Thread seems super dead but I guess we'll see. Can anyone give me an explanation of why Kirby players fair between double-jumps while recovering? I'm under the impression that it's supposed to give you a little more distance, and I was wondering what mechanic is involved.

How do you play against players who you KNOW are better than you?

Taj always says that you have to pull out all your tricks for players who are better than you. Go for harder reads, double dash-dance baits, fsmashes in neutral, things they'll expect good players not to do. Just, ya know, not all the time.

    Marth OoS

Counter comes out on frame 5, which is just as fast as up-B, except that you don't have to input the jump to up-B. I think up-B is better option even assuming both connect. More knockback and hitstun, and you can often just land on the top platform and start working your way back to neutral from...

How do you deal with extremely aggressive foxes?

Don't shield as much, as counter-intuitive as that sounds, because they'll just lock you up. It's not strictly-speaking safe, but throwing out a jab/first-hit side-B can really throw off the plan of a player who's already got a given button string in mind. Don't get hit.

How the **** do you beat a marth that only forward smashes?

If it works, it's better than what you're doing, so don't be quick to discredit it. Players like this generally have fantastic fundamentals which allow them to perform well even if they don't have the execution to perform higher-level movement techniques or the game knowledge to play a matchup...

You're more likely to get an answer to your question on the Facebook pages. This thread exists just to redirect people who only know to look on Smashboards to the Facebook pages :P I personally don't know, as I've only been here for a few years and haven't explored all that much.

S0ftie puttin in work Smashboards is generally the library to Facebook's coffee shop. Get on all of the relevant Facebook pages (and maybe a few that are only kind of relevant). We've got a group dedicated to each game as well as a bunch of smaller regional groups like Pinal County or Flagstaff.

Smash 3DS How do you unlock additional rules?

I can confirm that it's 200 KOs. Had 199, played a one-stock match, got it.

Looking for a Marth player to practice with

If you're in the Phoenix or Chicago areas, definitely! If you're from Sweden, Chile, the EC, or anywhere else outside a 50-mile radius of the 2 places I named, someone else would be a better bet.

    Marth Color Tier List

OP's list is probably the most generally agreed upon. I play a bottom tier character.

If you want to put yourself out there, check out the Facebook pages (I've linked to all of them multiple times in this thread). No one will look at this thread until the next time someone new or recently returned shows up and posts in it him/herself.
