It's because all those tactics were so popular for a while that anyone could beat them if they did it but now the tactics sort of died down and few Ike users use them rendering them effective against people who forgot they use to be popular.

A good combo is Dthrow, UpB, followed by either Eruption, gets invincibility frames if your opponents attack you or just do an neutral A combo followed by a side B as a chaser, trust me, some people don't see it coming but some people will punish you horribly for it. either way it's still a great way to add up damage fast.

Exactly. Also abuse Ike's Eruption's Invincibility frames. I believe I was at 130ish percent damage when you hit me with a Fsmash that should have killed me but Eruption's Invincibility frames saved me.

Then just use counter, Ike's Counter starts later than Marths but ends after Marths also. so use it before it hits you.

You'll do fine, you'll get in to the clan. Just make sure that no one other than me, SoniKupo, or Marthos invites you. And about the aerial dodging, it's easier to defend yourself if you air dodge at least 2 1/2 Ike body lengths away from the person below you. It gives you enough time air dodge again if they decide not to attack you the first time.

Hey, about your question on what I would've rated you, it would be a 5. Sorry man, but you need to not be forced in to "safe playing" that will get you totally thrashed by other people who know there way around it. The generic Ike is usually the one who will always play on the safe side, try to rack up damage and try to kill with a big finisher. Another Ike is the gimper who not the greatest, will tend to have extremely high kill rates but have high death rates too. There will be a tournament for my clan later on in the month, you can't participate but after that we'll be accepting requests. I'll get you in but theres a good chance you'll be under the wing of an Ike specialist called Melfice Z. He's good, you'll get good fast. He's crazy with Ike.
