    You actually fly the same distance, regardless of momentum. In ultimate it's just the balloon knockback, which sends you flying extremely quickly, then slows you down quickly to keep the matches fast paced. It's why you might look back at smash 4 gameplay and they are typically flying in the air...

    How to beat Roy

    Roy has the same problems as all the other swordies, his getting back to stage hinges almost entirely on his double jump at high percents. Go someone like Falco or Wolf who can gimp him with lasers or a character like Jigglypuff who can go deep offstage and exploit his limited recovery options.

    Problem with dash dancing

    You don't need to go crazy long, a good time to aim for would probably be about 2 seconds. I always flick my stick back and forth whenever I die or am waiting in a lobby just so I can get more comfortable with the motion, probably try that.

    Probably because smash regards itself as a party game. Some tutorials teaching players some concepts like teching, hitstun, or ledge mechanics would be nice but I guess nintendo would rather not.

    Being able to mash well is a skill. Knowing when to mash stick or mash buttons is a skill. It rewards you for staying active during frames that would normally be downtime.
