On second thought, I agree with this. Finding out the roster as you play makes "Challenger Approaching!" so much more exciting, even if "WHO'S THAT POKEMON" is cool too...

Okay, so you're making the Challenger Approaching thing just a way to send an offer to play someone, but saying no has no effect on your rank. And that makes sense that friend battles don't count for rank, because otherwise, you could build up rank quickly by them letting you win.
