At least via those interviews from a few months back the developers are well aware fans want Ryu for Smash and that they're "waiting for their invite" which means they want it to happen. Next Smash it is then...even if it'll be a wait.

Doom Slayer getting a Mii outfit is the best thing that could have happened with only one character left open. If Microsoft doesn't put a tight leash on Bethesda going forward, I do think he's the best shot for a playable character from them in the future.

Hayabusa feels like a base character third party character next time like how Castlevania got into the base roster this time. Maybe next time, there’s not that many classic NES era icons left!

I just hope Dixie eventually makes it into Smash before I’m 40. They’ll be cutting it close by the time the next Smash comes. 😂

Call of Duty and GTA would never get a character in Smash, lol. Excluding them and sports franchises, then Resident Evil is THE biggest franchise not in Smash yet. It's honestly suspicious to me Jill, Chris, Leon never got Mii outfits when Monster Hunter, Dante, Arthur, etc did.

I feel like if Devil May Cry came out on Gamecube back in the day instead of just PS2, it would have had a bigger presence among Nintendo fans. Most Nintendo only gamers never played a Devil May Cry game till recently, and it was basically a Sony exclusive for years.

In terms of 1st party Nintendo reps, a lot can change in another 5 years. New franchises like ARMS didn't exist years ago, Xenoblade became a Nintendo staple, Splatoon became a surprise smash hit, etc. Who knows what new franchises Nintendo will create in the next few years. I think the problem...

Dixie should have been in Brawl or Smash U by the latest. Very sad we have to wait 15+ characters who should have been added back in 2008.

In the highly unlikely event we get a "bonus" character after the last new character, it's also highly unlikely to be a character they JUST made a Mii-outfit for. Like how would that make any sense? It'd be someone totally new.

lol, is this 2002? Namco's rep came down to either Tekken or Tales and they went for Tekken. Calling Sakurai a, "piece of trash" when it was obvious his Mii outfit was coming back is ridiculous. I really wonder why posts like this aren't ban-worthy.

I honestly think it's down to either Ryu Hayabusa or Resident Evil for the last slot. Yes I know RE had 4 spirits, but with no Mii outfits for Jill/Leon/Chris and no Capcom character in the DLC it's suspicious. I'm leaning toward Ryu Hayabusa though...because Koei has nothing.
