  • So backstory:
I run a small(er) tournament series for a group of roughly 20 or so in my home in attempts to start a scene. However, there have been past issues with people wanting to play their sets, tourneys running late, and all around lack of communication. We recently switched to Discord for a (hopefully) smoother way of communication. Most have joined and the rest I consider not in the group anymore due to genuine disinterest. For those still in the group I find a lack of communication still present and maybe even stronger than before. There was an occurrence at a Summer tournament I ran that a player sand bagged a set in order to leave early (no real reason, just didn't want to stay). For an upcoming Winter event I will be running I want to try and fix these issues with a system similar to that of most regular tournaments in which if you don't report for your matches after X amount of time, it is a DQ from that round.

Is this the correct way to approach this? Are there better, less drama filled methods to counteract this lack of communication and lack of interest? I've tried running different events like Squad Strike, Crews and even Smash Masters but people still don't seem interested. Kinda a bummer :/
Any advice on the Fox/Ness match up? Trying to pick Fox up but failing to learn a few match ups. As you can guess, Ness is one of them. Any feedback is welcome!

When you say Ness matchup, are we talking Low, Mid or High Level? If high, expect magnet when they are above you and punish it, because they all do it as it's a really good option for mixup, and don't be afraid to use shine on Ness's PKT2 while you're recovering, they love to do that one because you either fade back or fade forward, in which fading back means easier edge guarding and fading forward means they can Up-Air KO your Fox. Other than that, shield PKF.
