Wasn't Greninja shown to Sakurai back when the only reference for it was its design? It didn't even have water kunai knives before Smash.

Has anyone speculated that one of the new Galarish Pokémon could be in the Fighters Pass? The timing of SWSH's reveal felt juuust early enough that Nintendo could have requested Sakurai to include a new Pokémon to advertise the games before the public even knew of its existence.

I will say this: if I'm right, and every stage returns with every fighter, then I want Pyrosphere to be Ridley's home stage. Imagine the hilarity in an 8-Ridley Mega Smash while also cramming in an extra 9th Ridley into the madness.
