I have never recommended switching mains for any reason outside of finding a more fun character to play as. some of the charm, in my opinion is overcoming the challenges in the weaknesses and matchups of your favorite character. My (Brawl) advice for Pit vs. Snake:

    1. Snake is challenged with laggy aerials and sluggish midair mobility, so lure him to the sky and punish his offense. Unlike Snake, Pit has quick aerials.

    2. Do not give Snake breathing time. He will control the stage that way.

    3. Make plenty of use of specials, as they have good defensive and pressuring qualities. Light arrows are a quick way of interrupting opponents when they are up to no good and you are too far to thwart them. Use the arrows as a harassment, but do not get carried away.

    4. Try to maintain a medium range distance between you and Snake. Snake's physical attacks (primarily tilts, but the jab is an effective defense) are quick enough to compete, work well out of shield, and they HURT. Thus you should focus on punishing him by waiting until he commits to indirect options before rushing or using special moves.
