It's more that they decided on a single version of Sora than anything else, it's like Megaman, they could have done a lot of things but choose to do the first ever version to make him enjoyable (and recognizible) to everyone. And honestly Crash works too with a similar philosophy, heck I bet...

After seeing the super straightforward Sora moveset, I think that Crash will be similar, super basic, fun and fast.

I don't think Crash will make it in the base roster, not in the slightest lol. I think Dante and Doomguy have more possibility, not Crash. Nintendo knows that we want him, better pay more right? Ahaha

Don't forget that Nintendo advertised both Crash and Spyro as iconic characters in some of his spots. Crash definitely is going to be part of Smash, I just hope he's gonna make it with this cast.
