  • Bro I just played the most clutch ARAM ever

I was Senna (True Damage skin) and just... it was SO close but my team won

I think I’ve found I play better when I’m using a skin I like lmao

and I was THIS close to getting S rank... 😭
I’m watching that DOTA Netflix anime and

I don’t know what the heck’s going on half the time

    but I like it 😆

Great to hear you're enjoying it! If you have any lore questions feel free to ask here or via PMs - I've been a fan of it for 10-15 years at this point. I haven't watched the anime just yet, but plan to.

That's me, except instead of the Netflix anime, its with Dota 2 itself.

Any tips on how to start, SKX? I kinda want to have the experience at least once (an IRL friend is a big Dota nut), but I'm not too keen on being screamed at in slavic languages, sooo.

It's a lot like starting out League, except all characters are available from the get go. So:

    1. Practice / Demo Mode's your friend. [HEROES (bar at top) -> Heroes tab (instead of Global Items) -> Select any hero -> Click "Demo Hero"] It allows you to test out a variety of spell / item combinations. Cheats are available in the Demo mode too.
    2. The Tutorial can be decent, but Valve doesn't update it with each patch. Beware.
    3. Start with the simpler heroes - more complex heroes like Meepo can make you feel like you're playing StarCraft instead. Carries / Mids include Juggernaut, Viper, Sven, Wraith King and Drow Ranger (whom Ashe took inspiration from IIRC). Traditional offlaners (what would normally form the Top lane in league, but bit more flexible depending on where the Carry ends up) include Tidehunter, Mars and Axe. Traditional supports include Crystal Maiden, Shadow Shaman and Lion.
    4. Go unranked / turbo mode in the beginning. Similar reasons as League.
    5. Like League, if you have a partner with you (up to 4 for the 5 man) that's a major plus.
