Condensed Ike Guide

Condensed Ike Guide

Best Ike Guide i've seen.
Love this guide. I would like to know more about the options for ledge guarding with Ike if possible. Excellent Job!!!
Ah so informative. Thanks again for all this great info. I have no issue with it. Question though: When buffering Fair and Bair is it appropriate to FF? It seems to actually cause more lag if you FF than otherwise.

Never fast fall a buffered fair or bair, as the whole point of buffering fair or bair is to negate landing lag. Either buffer and dont FF, or fast fall and go for a landing fair of bair, which is good for short characters or for conditioning.
This guide actually does provide a bunch of information an Ike player would need to know! This is pretty great. Maybe include something about the d-throw footstool combo though. There also are a few typos, but nothing major.

I'm glad you like the guide. However I believe I do talk about the footstool combo under dair in the all encompassing moveset analysis. Thanks for the review!
For a tl;dr guide, this is quite good. Contains useful information, and even some things I didn't know before. It's short and to the point, which is exactly what it aimed to do. My only suggestion would be to get a bit more specific on combos, maybe even create a list, as it's a bit vague right now. Overall, nice work!

See thats the problem with tl;dr guides, I have to omit so much I'd like to say that I sometimes leave out a little too much lol. I'll see if I can squeeze in a short section on combos without compromising length too much. Thanks for the 5 stars!
Nice guide.
But change tap jump on? I thought most competitive players turn off tap jump. And that's what I did ever since the 3DS version release.

Its pretty controversial stuff I know (lol). I give reason for my madness in the Recommended Techniques section. Heres a quick little explanation if you don't want to go digging through the guide. (Also, all of this is only relevant if you have both an analogue and a c-stick on your controller)

Tap jump allows for a technique to reliably preform frame 1 inputted aerials. This is particularly useful for Ike since his fair and bair will autocancel (ie avoid 18/19 frames of endlag respectively) if preformed on frame 1 of his jump.

With tap jump off, the technique is still possible, but would require a button overhaul or the adoption of the claw grip to preform it.

If I've caught your interest, I explain how to/what exactly I'm talking about towards the end of the guide. :)
