Okay, skimming through some of my personal highlights:
- Annalynn (at this point i'm obliged to recommend this to everyone on this site)
- Celeste
- Hypnospace Outlaw (really good story)
- Pizza Tower
- Rivals of Aether (peak; be sure to get the pc version so you can access the steam workshop)
- Skullgirls
- Spelunky (more familiar with the first game, but I've heard good things about its sequel)
- Waveland (more obscure, but I enjoyed it)

There is a fun game in early access called Necesse, its.like if Terraria and top down 2d Zelda games had a baby, its 5 bucks right now so your not losing much when buying it

I'd like to recommend Bomb Rush Cyberfunk - it's a great indie game with a focus on parkour and extreme sports, all wrapped up in a great visual package. (Think akin to Jet Set Radio but with good controls.) That aside, I'd also probably shill CROSSNIQ+ - it's a fast-paced Y2K puzzle game inspired by Japanese arcade puzzle games from the era, and it's a lot of fun!
