I'm very eh on the prospect of Banana Guard, but I don't really care too much - It's one fighter. I think a lot of people in the platfighter scene have already come to their conclusions when it comes to MVS, so I can't see them changing too much.

also there's the rumor that banana guard is a placeholder for barbie which is its own can of worms

I feel that's it's a double standard, everyone loved the likes of Duck Hunt and Pirhana Plant coming to Smash, so I don't see why it can't be the same case here

I think people would've taken Banana Guard better if he was not a relaunch character, if he were added a bit after launch people would see him as weird and he'd still have detractors but I think adding him just a but later woulda helped with the perception

because as of now people are assuming he's "stealing" a precious launch slot from Barbie or Beetlejuice or Dexter or Dexter's Monkey
