It's a minor glitch / oversight.
If you perfect shield reflect olimar's side B and it's a white pikmin, the white pikmin will be reflected and latch on to Olimar (as the other pikmin do), but when it dies in the final explosion, it will do no knockback/hitstun to olimar.
