When using the c stick it SEEMS as if i can't get the smash to come out as fast, but its much easier. Is this a perceived lag or am I just not quick enough with the flick?

Which is easier (for you): c-stick or analog for dsmash/fsmash while wavedashing?

There is no lag between the different sticks, it is entirely preference. I like using analog to charge it a bit before hitting and so my thumb remains free to respond to any actions they do, but it is entirely up to you. This may be biased because I don't like the Cstick in general
