It was seriously a great tournament. Bringing together the whole Portuguese community was really cool, and it truly represents a beginning for it. For most of us, it was our very first tournament experience. But we all got to meet and know each other, and this will probably result in a greater interaction between everyone here. I hope we will have more of these. And we probably will, one in October and one in December. Congratz to Flayl, who won the tournament without losing a match with his awesome Bowser. Today I haven't played well in all matches and there are obviously things I could have done better. I'm satisfied with the result though. And even more for the success this tournament was.

Maybe next time we'll have a Brawl+ and Melee tournament. We'll do as much as we can to continue and improve what we have started. Portuguese smash is born today. ^^

Quero primeiro agradecer a todos que trouxeram o material necessário para o torneio correr bem, e fiquei bastante surpreendido que chegaram todos pontualmente. Conto convosco para voluntariar outra vez para o próximo

25 pessoas é um excelente começo, mais do que eu estava à espera.

2: NatP (Mr. G&W) - Meu deus, que série mais renhida. Apostei forte e feio na última jogada. Agora que tens Bowser experience acho que nunca mais te venço lol.
3: GSM (Diddy Kong/Wario/R.O.B./Snake) - És muito bom com uma data de gente, e as tuas bananas sufocam O que eu disse sobre o Bowser ao NatP também se aplica a ti.
4: NGFC (Donkey Kong) - Também jogaste com uma data de personagens, desculpa a minha memória terrível, lol. Ajudaste imenso com a organização de torneio sem recompensa, e serás consequentemente escravizado para os eventos seguintes :devil:
5: Blue Lightning (Lucas) - Espantaste-me mesmo, não achei possível vires tão longe com o Lucas. Bowser grab release owns Lucas, mas não tão forte como me ownaste no Tatsunoko VS Capcom!
5: King Funk (Falco) - És top tier em termos de Falco tech skill, acho que consegues fazer ainda melhor do que isto. Espero que estejas presente da próxima vez que fizermos isto.
7: Filipe Cardoso (Olimar) - Não joguei contigo, mas foste porreiro em relação a jogar os teus jogos e os resultados.
7: BigLord (Captain Falcon) - Porque é que não fizeste counterpick com Meta Knight seu casmurro, lol. Top 8 com Captain Falcon? BigLord tier!
9: Bounty Hunter (Samus) - Falando de grandes jogadores com low tier mains, és um deles de certeza. Pouco vi do teu último jogo, mas sei que aquele suicídio no princípio do 3º jogo tramou-te mesmo.

1: Flayl - Your performance in the tourney was pretty much flawless. Nice comeback in the grand finals.
Next time we should do a doubles' tournament and form the "Organizers' Team". ^^

2: NatP - Good ****! You're a hero, losing in the second round (against me) and going all the way to the g-finals. I really hope you'll come to the other tournaments.

3: GSM - I would really have liked playing more friendlies, great character mastery. ^^

4: NGFC - Weird guy. You eliminate me to get to losers' semis, and then you just throw your next round in the garbage, and laugh around as if nothing happened. But ggs anyway. xD

5: King Funk - I MUST get better on Jungle Japes. Had a good tourney.

5: Blue Lightning - Dude, I shouldn't have played friendlies with you before our third round match, because you basically read me! Nice performance.

7: Filipe Cardoso - I'm sure next time you'll do better. Train hard! ^^

7: BigLord - It's great you managed to get in the top 8 with only Falcon. I'm sorry for being so evil against you with my Falco, but you definitely need a secondary character (MK perhaps?). Fun games.

Alright, awesome tourney, it was really worth the journey from Porto to Lisbon, no doubt. I really had the best time of my life, and playing smash with so much other smash lovers had always been my dream. Well, now that dream was fullfilled. :D

1: Flayl (Bowser) - Vou ser sincero: Subestimei-te. Tu mereceste a vitória. Jogaste muito bem, e não me sinto minimamente envergonhado por me teres ganho. Mas para a próxima, já estarei mais preparado.
2: NatP (Mr. G&W) - Jogaste bem, mas... G&W é demasiado bom, usa mas é o ganondorf.
3: GSM (Diddy Kong/Wario/R.O.B./Snake) - Foi muito bom conhecer-te. A sério. Não fizemos assim tantas friendlies. :S. Mas tivemos um jogos muito renhidos. Tu és um jogador muito esperto. Usaste snake contra g&w E escolheste halberd. Instant kill. Espero que estejas no próximo.
4: NGFC (Donkey Kong) - Bons jogos. Tu és um jogador muito bom e adorei os nossos jogos. E usaste jigglypuff contra g&w.... Só mesmo em portugal. xD
5: Blue Lightning (Lucas) - Tu és o Gonny certo? Haha o nosso último jogo foi o máximo. O teu lucas é muuuito melhor do que parecia. Ah as friendlies de brawl+ também foram fixes.

Bowser isn't quite as bad as you might think. With no D3 around he has a much easier time and Flayl didn't have to fight some of Bowsers harder match-up's like ICs or Olimar - G&W, Falco and Lucas are all entirely winnable for Bowser.

That said, he wouldn't place with Bowser alone in a bigger tourney where all characters are represented.

1: Flayl(Bowser) Bem o teu Bowser está mostruoso mesmo. Parabéns pela vitória e pela organização do torneio. Não tive a opurtunidade de jogar contigo uma única vez (nem no torneio a pares) mas para a próxima lá estarei. E precisas de relaxar mais!!! tens gente a apoiar-te, não precisas de fazer tudo sozinho ah desculpa ter levado a tv e não funcionar (esquecimentos à NGFC)
2: NatP (Mr. G&W/Donkey Kong) A partir do momento em que vislumbrei por detras de um aglomerado de cabeças o teu primeiro jogo pensei logo que não me queria cruzar contigo... e lá aconteceu, nessa altura já não tinha nada a perder pois nunca pensava em chegar tão longe. Jogas muita bem mesmo, não tive a opurtunidade de ver o teu DK, trocamos de FC para me ensinares uns truques? (apesar que já tou a ficar farto dele lol)
3: GSM (Diddy Kong/Wario/R.O.B./Snake) à entrada para o nosso jogo eu ia demasiado confiante mas nunca te tinha visto jogar. thanks for the uploads flayl, many of those matches were closer than i thought, i felt overwhelmed in many of them, from watching the vids i can already think of many things to improve. mainly diddy tech stuff, should have practiced a bit more before the tournament, maybe next time i can put up a better fight
@ natP i think hes talking more of not knowing the matchups, from our matches he looked like he couldnt handle the naners very well, he also told me he didnt know much about diddy

pronto ta bem... mas deves ter dedicado tempo para aprender o k se deve fazer em variadas situações, que é aquilo que se aprende aqui neste tão famoso site . E também saber o timing certo para as usar... por acaso reparei nesse do bucket, tenho que ver se não me esqueço de o usar.

Para a próxima vens comigo, eu posso não ser do porto mas sou de leiria(ao fds) e Aveiro (durante a semana) que já fica mais ou menos a meio caminho... podiamos ir mais uns poucos do norte ( o pwner já sabe que pode contar comigo).

Eu qdo tiver de volta a wii (na quarta ou quinta) quero jogar contigo e com o Muro (GSM?) só pa ver se consigo ganhar uns joguitos lol. depois envio por pm o meu msn para combinarmos.

Epa, gostei do torneio, tava bem organizado e n houve falhas nenhumas, tas de parabens flayl ^^ So tenho pena de ter ficado em 9º mas adorei jogar contra o pessoal portugues, fico feliz por saber q os portugueses ate sabem jogar brawl

Desta vez vou praticar para o proximo torneio, em vez de tar praticamente um mes inteiro sem jogar brawl, e dps praticar 1hora e meia antes do dia do torneio xD Acho q foi esse o meu maior problema, n tinha praticado nada mesmo. Vou-me vingar pra proxima!

Watching the tournament videos from this and the tournament in Lyons REALLY contradicts this. Europe is definitely very far behind the US in Brawl, no offense to Europe. The later release date for the PAL version of the game, sure, but that was only a four month difference. The metagame I'm seeing displayed is nearly a year behind us, I'd say. Flayl's Bowser won the tournament without dropping a game, and it really wasn't even that impressive.

All of these players look like they have no idea what they're doing, even the ones who took top placings. I'm sorry, but I'm very worried about the general skill level. The lack of good approaching, defense, punishing, edgeguarding, and reads really depressed me. In a Flayl vs. GSM match, Flayl is falling to the ground helplessly at 200% and GSM does a banana -> grab combo instead of getting the guaranteed smash for a kill. A LOT of instances like this happened throughout basically every match I watched.

Europe really needs to step it up as a region. Don't let Bowser win any more tournaments, guys!
