If Sakurai thinks he needs to complete the Mother series by adding Ninten.

Moreover, since it's EarthBound that's coming to the VC, I'd say it boosts the chances of Jeff more than Ninten.

It's because of fan response, I think Jeff is simply just for the moveset.
I don't think anything additional would have to be added from Earthbound or Mother 3.

I like it how you completely missed the point.

Fire Emblem and Mother are comparable, both being RPGs with a constantly changing cast. The only difference is that Mother had 3 games, while FE had 13.
Why on earth should the Mother series get more priority of getting complete representation?

Almost every other series, except Pikmin, retros and 3rd parties would deserve it first.

Either way, it's because Mega Man is the only character the vast majority wants out of the franchise (let alone Capcom) and because Mega Man isn't getting more than one character if we get one at all.
