How so? I don't really see a problem with them, nor do I care for them.
Well I saw these two comments on YT that made me think they are bad business practices:
"It's as "fine" as all the other nickeling and diming the rest of the industry does with small DLC that the drones hate. But costume packs for Mii Fighters in Smash they're perfectly okay with. You don't hear them say "Oh, as long as it's not OP" when it comes to the rest of the industry, they just say it's bad and that "Nintendo doesn't do that." That's the hypocrisy at play here."
"You can support or not support whatever you want, just don't give your favorite company a free pass for doing things you rage on other companies for doing. It's really not complicated to not have that kind of double-standard with anything, let alone video games.
I'm fine with standalone DLC characters in games, so I buy them. I'm not fine with DLC costumes in games, so I don't buy them. I bought Yoda for SC4, i'll buy Lucas. I didn't buy the MVC costume packs, I'm not buying the Mii Fighter costume packs. It's that simple."

Well how I see it it's just cosmetics, and those don't really take anything away from the game itself (some might feel that they need to have every little thing and it might annoy them). I'd be interested if other fighters would get costumes that I actually would use, but I don't use miis at all in smash so I have no need for their costumes.
The mii costumes take a lot less effort to create than creating a new fighter, so it's a easy and a nice way to "include" some characters in the game that wouldn't get to be in it otherwise. I rarely buy any type of skins or costumes in games, because I don't think they're ever worth the money, I love unlocking costumes in games though.
So I still don't see an issue here. It isn't cut content from the game that they're selling, nor does it give a boost to those who do buy them. If your not interested in buying those costumes, then that's fine, you don't lose anything by not buying those.

Now if you wanna hear a case of dlc that would bother me, then I'd simply point at batman arkham knights dlc. They expect you to buy a season pass that nearly costs as much as the game itself, and the content that you get in it is just basic challenges, that were in the older games from the start. And also it has some story dlc, that even combined together, most likely won't even be half the length of the full game. So it's just over priced mess. Content that you used have from the start and story dlc that will be underwhelming and short.

Well, I'm not sure about the DLC costumes anymore, but at least they're a better business practice than the amiibos are (what with them functioning basically like disc-locked and day one DLC). :ohwell:

True, I don't mind amiibos If they just unlock 1 costume, or work like in smash. As long as they don't unlock anything really meaningful, then I can ignore them. But I do think it's really problematic when not everyone can get their hands on them (plus the prices....). At least everyone who'd want to buy a Chrom mii costume is able to do so without issues (unless they don't have internet of course).

If K Rool is confirmed to not be in Smash, looks like the internet will have a huge amount of backdraft, as I have said before, if the Smash ballot is fixed, Nintendo's reputation will be tarnished forever

Corporate scumjiggery like a pre-determined shortlist of characters will rustle a lot of jimmies, but ultimately, we'll forget it happened like the E3 conference. Vidya game fans are repeatedly punched in the stomach and they always beg for more or forgive and forget when a goodie is thrown their way. If the ballots fixed like some think, Nintendo's reputation will be tarnished for sure, but then watch that blow over when the new Zelda comes. Or the next Galaxy. Short term memory.

But I won't forget, Microsoft's early Xbox One policies angered me, and I still won't buy one, even though MS changed their policies, if Nintendo did that I won't buy anything Nintendo again, but Nintendo isn't THAT stupid

I'm not hating on anyone's opinions but I think wolf has a higher chance of making it. I mean look at krystal, she looks a furries dream. You know how bad nintendo will look.

I'm pretty sure everyone here thinks that wolf has a higher chance of making it. And even then the furry aspect isn't why, look at Zero Suit Samus, I guarantee you will find just as much porn as krystal, if not more due to her wider appeal (being human and all)

There's probably more since she's a human but let's get back on topic people. Don't need no nasty nasty in this thread.

R34's in no way a justifiable argument towards anyone even those who're already in the game, the fact you mentioned Wolf with this makes your argument even worse as you either failed no realize, or deliberately ignored how he appeals to the same group, even Fox and Falco do as well, and believe you me I know what kind of things they've been through. In short your argument is invalid and ironic.

Sorry but after seeing someone pull the same stunt on both King K Rool and Krystal in one of those top X polls and calling him out on it, I refuse to allow anyone to pass this argument off towards anyone, let alone act like it's different when they get called out, and boy have I seen it.

Would like Krystal to be in this game. If any other Star Fox character were to get in, I can think of no one better. I imagine a lot of people would hate me for saying it, but I'd much rather have Krystal over Wolf. There's already a Wolf skin for Fox, and really we have enough clone characters already.

Truthfully, I am not even a Star Fox fan, but I would still really like to see Krystal in the game. That says something.

I know some of you all don't like GameFAQS, But there is this guy that does daily polls for characters for DLC and today is Krystal time. If you all want to can go down there a vote. Just spreading this to you all.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/633202-super-smash-bros-for-wii-u/72242236

I would love to see the "Trash" option not leading the poll to be honest. Lol
Oh god, the one guy who still thinks Adventures was the downturn of the series, yet oblivious to how Star Fox would've been long dead if Adventures not of happened since Nintendo didnt plan on making another game at all until now, the guy who seriously believes Panther is in any way good (he's worse imo), and the two guys who got mad at one person for calling one of em out for suspecting him of being one of those people someone here mentioned about with a screenshot in a thread there describing similarities with Kingdom Hearts.

Like the Trash option means anything if the rest are outdoing it combined, but.

GameFAQs seems to be extremely negative towards many fanbases. Kind of an incubator for trolls rofl.

It's awesome that Krystal's potential is apparent even to the casual observer. Truthfully, I am indifferent to Wolf's inclusion, but I don't want him cut for the sake of his fans. It's never a good feeling to see your character excluded from an anticipated title, and given Zero, I think we as Krystal fans can empathize with that. If we restore the missing veteran and add the newcomer, in my eyes, that's the best case scenario.

Fortunately for us, it's GameFAQs. The loudest opinion there is from the Star Fox equivalent of genwunners, especially those among them who see Krystal as a scapegoat. In a place like that, anyone who doesn't follow along with that and isn't already super prominent becomes a target.

Well that's why I have said before, go on that site at your own risk, Smashboards is far more moderate, yes we have idiots and trolls like Zeldamaster but they are few and far between

But what I described is what happens over at GameFAQs. People flock to the loudest opinion there, the most aggressive one. I'm not saying the series didn't take a downturn, but all blaming Krystal does for it is give them a figurehead to tear down when the real issues were lack of replay value and less polished on-foot missions (Assault) and poor writing (Command).

Instead of discussing what could be done to make the series better, they cling to an idealized version of how things once were, make a scapegoat out of a character that exists outside it, and lash out at anyone who disagrees.

Assault had potential to be a great game, but it was rushed to market

That being said, you can add me to the support list of course.
There is no support list.

I kind of expected a divide in that GameFAQs poll. It's things like these that make me think Krystal doesn't have as much of a chance as DLC as we think.

King K. Rool being a Mii costume doesn't necessarily disconfirm him but it does show me that Sakurai had absolutely no plans or intention on even working on him before the Ballot. If they were working on him alongside the costume, then that would be extremely redundant as in the costume would be useless to make anyway.

Part of me wonders if the costume was planned earlier in development but scrapped and then brought back now. It might've even been greenlighted before the Smash Ballot opened. There're possibilities to consider, you know?

So i saw in the king K thread that

King K. Rool
Wonder Red
Krystal
Wolf
Bomberman?

were gonna be mii costumes from some leak (the guy that leaked the dr. mario stage) that i cant get into because even speculators have "elites" only and my main account left that place long ago, I swear i hate the mii's. (Last i checked they were questioning that leaker)

However, if king K is a character after all, this could bode well for us if this leak is true.

Unless you're not aware, almost everyone will tell you not to take anything anyone says or polls on Gamefaqs as fact. It's essentially the bottom of the barrel of communities, and i'm confused to how the forum is still alive after so many years.

Realistically speaking, many love or are neutral on Krystal, only a very small portion really hate her, and it was pointed out by this, which by the way was posted about a month ago, those individuals that do are really just mad their Fox Falco Wolf shipping fantasies weren't canon (they seriously believed this), like it ever was, and believe it or not i've seen a few people like this. It's really sad if they still hold this grudge since her debut was what, thirteen years ago? Yet Rosalina and a good chunk of the other Nintendo girls are okay despite they're in the same position as her in that she had to be saved, didnt do much, etc.

Only gay furfags and gay shippers hate Krystal 1.png

It does sound ironic as I did just say not really taking anything as fact, but considering how this has been proven a number of times. Basically just take whatever as a grain of salt or just avoid the place entirely if you dont wish to see a ton of biased opinions, etc.

Has anyone heard of this supposed leak? This is the first I've heard of it.

The thing has has me second guessing it is how little sense some of them would make as costumes. Wolf used a mix of athletics and claw attacks in Brawl with just one blaster attack and some other misc. technology, meaning he wouldn't make sense as a Brawler or Gunner. Bomberman wouldn't work well as anything either without not feeling true to character at all! And I think we'd all agree that it wouldn't make sense for Krystal, either.

...Hey, wait a minute. Bomberman would be the first we've seen of Konami. Doesn't that itself call it under question?

And how do we know it's the same guy as the Dr. Mario stage? Remember how there were people who claimed to be associated with the ESRB leak that turned out to be frauds?

I was going to say something when I saw it come up in the K. Rool thread but honestly...Wolf as a Mii? Preposterous. Even after the whole K. Rool fiasco. I don't think it's legitimate and decided against bringing it up to not spread false rumors and "leaks".

If it's true this website will implode.

Don't put stock into it. They will reveal more mii costumes tonight/tomorrow. Just hope and pray it isn't your character.

Let's put it like this, even if say Krystal, Issac, Bomberman, Simon, or whoever end up as ii costumes, it could very well mean something for them in the future. In other words it's still a victory to some extent, supporters of K Rool should at least feel good that they've been heard, unless they already have. I just know a good chunk's been going at it since the leak, but really I blame the journalists for misleading everyone with the trademark renewal as if it had something to do with the Smash Ballot. What they essentially did was clickbait, and it worked.

That depends on whether being a Mii costume rules them out from being fully playable. If not, it's a sign the fans' voices are being heard. If it does rule them out...well, it's a massive punch to the gut and raises some questions.

I've always been incredibly confused by that post. It assumes that everyone who hates Krystal is a gay furry (not trying to be offensive here). I could easily dislike Krystal as a character without being a furry.

Nintendo would have a lot of explaining and damage controlling to do
