The following story is a about the rise of the greatest IceClimber (IC) player on the east-coast..in Glenburnie....in his house.

One damp night in the heart of the VGBC headquarters, there sat a kid. This kid was a plain scrub at Melee. At first glance he didn't look capable of doing a simple SHFFL, but he had greatness in mind. He sat playing his Kirby dittos with his scrub friends. The match ended in a Swallowcide leading to sudden death which was swiftly ended by the execution error of wave-dashing back to the ledge. The group chuckled at the simplicity of the mistake. The night continued and the venue filled with time. Common SaX tourney goers were aware that the better players show up late because they don't need time to practice. That being said the room was filled with scrubs, not a pro among them. Then whispers of a pro in particular spread throughout the room. Curious, the IceClimber main found his way to the sign-up table to get more information "Is "he" really going to be here?" He asked with a mix of excitement and dread.
"I guess, his name is on the bracket" spoke TKBreezy to the aspiring god.
The IceClimber main responded with a simple "oh" and he walked back into the crowd to relay the information he had just received. The time was 7:28pm it seemed as if the tourney was going to be an "easy" ride for the IceClimber main as 2 minutes did not seem like enough time to get to the venue from any average distance. However; he was wrong. It seemed as if a portal to the heavens opened up and all of the local pros appeared at once and"he" was with them. The starting tournament matches were being shouted throughout the room. It seemed like during the calling of the matches that all players were equal. It wasn't until you played your opponent that you found out if you were the predator or the prey or if it was simply a battle for territory instead of a struggle for life.
The IceClimber main heard his name called and he walked to the set-up, finding a jiggs main and his girlfriend. Before the match had even begun it seemed like the IceClimber main had lost due to his lack of a companion, easily deterred, the IceClimber main subconsciously lost the will to win seeing as he had never fought a jiggs player and the stage striking led to Dreamland. The match "raged" on with all the power one can muster in a floaty match-up. The game ended in a surprising 2-0 victory for the IceClimber main. He reported the match to one of the TOs at the same time he asked if his next match was ready seeing as his floaty match-up took almost 10 minutes. The TO said that the IceClimber main would have to face the winner of some guy and "him". Eager to start the match as soon as possible the IC main went to find "him". It wasn't very hard with the venue being so small. He approached "him" and spoke what little he could with the effects of being starstruck still afflicting him.
"I'm gonna have to play you" he finally managed to get out
"oh ok" responded the pro player with a stone face
"Actually I'm going to have to lose to you ha ha....." The IC main knew he had lost before it begun so he tried to make a joke to ease his inevitable defeat.
The two stood there awkwardly with the room seemingly silent around them.
"I'm going to go play my match" said the pro and he walked off bringing sound back to the air.
The IC main returned to his pack of scrub friends with the news of his upcoming match. Everyone was jokingly over-hopeful with lines like "you'll destroy him" and "you got this". They laughed about the upcoming 2-0 in the pros favor but it didn't matter, It was only a game after all, one played for fun. The IC main went to go watch the pro while he played. The match was like watching art. Every movement had purpose. Each and every attack that was thrown connected with the opposing character. The game ended with the pro coming out on top with a 2-0 victory. The competitors shook hands as Marth twirled his sword on the victory screen, the pro went to stand up but the IC main quickly came to the set-up ready to lose to none other than Azen. The IC main hadn't done terrible in previous tournaments which made people interested in the match because they wanted to see him win even though it was highly unlikely.
Azen chose Marth with no hesitation ready to defeat this scrub IC player. The striking led to Battlefield, the IC knew he'd have to keep to the ground due to his limited experience on platforms. He knew Marth could attack through the platforms with ease. The game announcer counted down from 3 and the match began. The IC main wave-dashed back to the far right corner of Battlefield and he sat in his shield waiting for Azen to make a move. Azen seemed to be confused at this level of scrubbery. He ran in for a grab but uncharacteristically the IC main jumped to the platform and avoided the sword wielding prince. This continued for a bit but then the IceClimbers caught hold of Marth's robes around his neck. The crowd erupted with the chance at taking at least 1 stock from the pro player. Then, It began.... The IC main used his muscle memory to recall the 200 beats per minute tempo he had heard so many times before and he began rhythmically tapping the A button resulting the IceClimbers most powerful tool, The Wobble. The wobbling continued followed by a timed forward-smash and down went the stock counter for Azen from 4 to 3. The crowd Cheered for the IC main's short triumph. It was short indeed for Azen came down from the re-spawn platform with a bit of anger or with what it is most often referred to as "salt". He threw swords left and right knocking the IC around dropping their stocks to 3. The IC main wave-dashed in a secured another grab and started the devilish tapping resulting in a stock loss for Marth. He was now resting on 2 stocks while the ICs had 3. Azen re-spawned with even more salt in his heart throwing sword swings in all directions. His movement was becoming less of an artform and more of an animal rampaging about the stage. However; throughout his violent sword throws he managed to secure a kill evening the stocks to 2 a piece. The IC saw his lead fading but he continued to sit in his shield and avoid the sword wielding monster. Azen misplaced a hit and the IC main secured another grab. The tapping started up again. The crowd still cheering their lungs out filled the room with excitement as they watched the IC cheese his way to victory. But to the IC the room was as quiet as a morgue. All he could hear is the melodic tapping in his head. The wobbling was as consistent as ever and it ended with another forward-smash to the head of Marth. He was sent soaring off the screen reducing him to one final stock. The IC main fired off a taunt feeling cocky. The IC's sat comfortably on 2 stocks while Marth struggled to come back. The IC took this time to go on offense and he swung hammers in all directions just trying to hit marth. Many hits connected and one sent Marth offstage the IC main knew that he could win if he acted fast. He wave-dashed to the ledge and ramen noodled the recovering Marth leaving him with nothing to grab. He fell to his doom. The crowd exploded in the room. The match that was currently being streamed wasn't being watched at all. Everyone sat around the scrubby IC main who had surprisingly beat Azen. The IC main stood up knowing that he had to win a second time to secure the tournament victory he looked at all of his temporary fans and shouted "I cant do that again" he finished the statement off with some laughter and he sat down for game 2. Azen, being a jack of all trades took this time to look over the situation. It didn't take long for him to make his decision. He changed from Marth to the bane of any scrubby IC main.....Peach...and that was all she wrote. Game 2 and Game 3 went to Azen both without him losing a single stock. The IC main and Azen shook hands and the match was over. 2-1 in Azen's favor. Azen had won the match but in that he created a legend. He had transformed the Scrubby IC main into "The Azen Slayer". The Azen Slayer rode his 1 game victory for the rest of the night and weeks to come and some say he still rides the hype to this day. This is only the start of the warpath, who will he slay next?
