My god, was this an amazing experience for me. The Gentlemen's Club has always wanted to host a tourney of their own, and I was glad to have been able to lead those efforts into reality. Things didn't run as quickly as I may have liked (a topic which will be brainstormed upon in anticipation for the next installment of the Club), but we managed to pull off 5 events, with Melee & PM Doubles, as well as Melee & PM Singles, both running concurrently, respectively. It couldn't have been done without every last bit of help that I received with logistics. A big thank you to everyone who came out to my first tournament! It was a pleasure to have you all here.

I want to extend a special thanks to all of the following people:
~root and General Heinz for stepping up to the plate and TO'ing PM and 64, respectively.
~Juggleguy for helping me on several occasions with all manner of tourney logistics, ideas on obtaining venues, and much more.
~Slayertokey for volunteering, on his own volition, to bring and set up the stream. Special thanks to him and everyone else who helped to maintain it throughout the day.
~kd and everyone else who did commentary on the stream. (Gentlemen: I'm looking at you )
~Zbet, General Heinz, and Blake for aiding me in many ways on tournament day, at and away from the desk.

~To everyone, no matter how short or long (especially to those long) your travel times were, for coming out to make this event everything that it was.

And without further ado, here come the results! I listed all of the character icons that I could remember for each singles event. Feel free to PM me if you remember any others or notice any corrections that I need to make, and I will do my best to put them in here in a timely fashion.

(Note: $5 were taken from the Melee Singles, Project Melee Singles, Melee Doubles, and Project Melee Doubles pots each, for a total of $20, to be added to the Michigan Melee Summer Circuit prize pot, which will be awarded at Juggleguy's Body City tournament on August 10th.)

I had so much fun at this tourney it was the second tourney i went to and the first tourney that I actually won a bracket match in (sorry sarix), I really hope to be out to the next one and for sure will be going to the big house. Also i can tell you guys who all the people in crew played in the tournaments.


DeepSeaSquid was gannondorf in melee and M, GoonSquad was falco/shiek in both, Didlo was sheik and fox and onski was marth in Melee and charizard/ivy in M.


Finally huge shoutouts to General Heinz and everyone else who played friendlies with me and were just generally nice.

Okay, it's only fitting that my 300th post would be a shout-out post for my first tourney that I hosted, so here goes. All of my thanks and such are above, so let's get right into the nitty-gritty and shout out some players:

Melee Shoutouts

1: Free ($124.00) - U so troll winnin the tourney as Free
2. Juggleguy ($67.00) - Again, thanks for all of the help. Not good enough to find time to play friendlies while TO'ing yet, haha. Perhaps next time there's a Kzoo tourney, we'll get some Kzoo friendlies in. Let's try to get some games in at Body City.
3. KJH ($34.00) - Holy **** I didn't expect that Melee set to get that hype at all, haha. I'll have to resolve that salt next time I see you. You'd best be at Body City, son. Good games. We had some pretty crazy sets on Saturday.
4. Bigy - Salty about that Falcon, man. Pretty whack. You'll have to come down to Kzoo so I can get some revenge It's great to see you playing again, man!
5. Rh1thmz - Laser reset > fsmash puts hair on your chest
5. Blake - I wanted you to win vs KJH sooooo bad! How could you lose you jabroni
Good ****, man. Your Fox is so awesome.
7. Zbet - The epic tourney runback 18 months in the making finally happened, Jerry. That set was easily one of the top 3 most intense moments all day long to me. Good ****ing games, dude.
7. Hot_Arms - Sorry that I didn't get any games with my Falco in on you, man. Let's get our fair share in at Body City.

Every one of our friendlies went down to last stock decent percents, even when I feel like you played like you didn't believe you could win. Had we both turned up our game and played in a tournament setting, there's no doubt in my mind you would have pushed your doubts aside and dealt with the pressure far better than I could

Juggleguy ($67.00) : the kzoo crew owes a lot to you rob, just for running all the events in AA that have allowed us to get better in the first place and run our own tournament in which actual good players show up and we still prove ourselves capable of generating serious hype and doing serious damage. it meant a lot that you came out. good job on second as well, and we'll have to play a lot more friendlies during this next year.
3. KJH ($34.00) : good **** man. we didn't play at all but it's amazing to see how far you've come in just the year since the first time i saw you and played you in tournament at apasher's last summer. good chillin afterwards too, you're always welcome in kzoo.
4. Bigy : dat old school hype. really awesome that you came out bigy. if you're ever willing to school some of us in kzoo you're always welcome to swing by and play some games, hope you do sometime.
5. Rh1thmz : yoooooooooo you ****ing knocked it out of the park man. excellent job TO'ing, and excellent job keeping your cool when that random kyler ************ showed up and started asking questions lol. great job placing so high. i'm so proud of the gentlemen's club i can hardly stand it. we've come farther than i ever thought we could.
5. Blake : the number one jabroni reppin kzoo and portage. you always know how to keep things hype man. we couldn't have done any of this without the late night basement seshes at your place. thanks for always hyping us up even when we're down in the dumps and just for generally being one of the chillest dudes i've ever randomly met.
7. Zbet : no complaints here, man. you deserve your placing 100%, and beat me fair and square. one of these days i'll quit approaching the sheik matchup like a four year old (p.s. your spacies suck ). ggs as always.
7. Hot_Arms : didn't play, but it was hype to have you come out to blake's afterwards and chill. i always like talking to experienced players about the game, and you gave some real interesting insights. hope to see you again and get some friendlies in for sure.

25. fishnax : good to see you again tevin. too bad we didn't get to play any friendlies, but i'm definitely trying to come out to fishfest whenever it happens. those matches vs tm were hella close, just don't ever cp ganon to yoshi's ever ever ever ever again and you'll be fine lol. i literally lost to a ganon main in friendlies on yoshi's once, the first time i'd ever played him, and salted back to yoshi's like six times in a row and lost every ****ing game lol. that **** sux.

additional shoutouts to root and mckillington for a close set in pm doubles as well as benji, l-cancel, and whoever else scraped me and josh out of the pm doubles bracket lol. also huge shoutouts to sarix for ggs in 64 as well as some pm friendlies, shooting the **** about blazblue, and generally being a chill dude.

in general just thanks to everyone for coming, because before the event took place we didn't have any way of knowing how much activity this tourney would generate, but i'm satisfied in virtually every single way about the outcome of this tournament. the turnout was huge (for us, anyway), and the gentlemen's club seriously showed the **** up. hope we can do another one of these in the fall.
