THE FALL CLASSIC

Visit the TFC website and register here!
(Smash will be added to the registration on Monday)

What Is The Fall Classic?

The Fall Classic is going to be one of the largest FGC events this entire year, and the success of Evo 2013, the staff is working with CLASH Tournaments to bring Melee to the event! The Fall Classic brings together four of the biggest FGC organizers across the East Coast - the hosts of NEC, ECT, and Final Round - to all host a single event of epic proportions in North Carolina. It's time to keep the Melee hype train moving and bring Melee to more events. If there is any FGC event we want to impress outside of Evo - THIS IS IT!

About The Fall Classic

The east coast is finally being united by four major tournament organizers, Larry “Shin Blanka” Dixon, John “SweetJohnnyCage” Gallagher, Joe “LI Joe” Ciaramelli, and Eric “Big E” Small. The amount of hard work and dedication shown by these four is unmatched and will, without a doubt, be shown when they all come together September 14-15, 2013 in Raleigh, North Carolina for the first ever Fall Classic. Big plans are in store for east coast and we want YOU to show your love, not only for the coast, not only for the organizers, but for the community. This is about you! Don’t forget that these four organizers all bring something unique to the table, not to mention YEARS of experience. This is going to be the east coast done right. For anyone not familiar with some of the founders read more about The Fall Classic staff here.

What We Can Expect With Melee?

Super Smash Bros. Melee will be here in FULL FORCE! Melee's inclusion into the event was just confirmed this weekend, and will be live on the website registration on Monday. You can expect an amazing event with the strongest hitters of the East Coast coming together, along with top competition from across the nation.

Didn't see it edited into the OP yet but SSBM was added to the pre-reg today: http://tfctournament.com/tfc-registration/
You can sign up for other games, too, if you wanna make it more worth your while. You save money pre-regging, I'm sure it'll be similar to EVO where once pre-reg is closed it's going to be a bit higher venue fee or something. So don't wait too long (you have plenty of time though to pre-reg).

Yes, as Revven pointed out, registration for Melee at TFC is now live! It in fact went up Sunday night, before the Monday date I was told ;)

I'll be promoting this event on more sites this week, and getting more information to all of you guys about the event asap. Kind of juggling this with trying to finish the recently announced Apex 2014 registration site, and the upcoming SKTAR 2 stream.

If anyone in the NC area has setups they can bring, please post about it here on the thread! I'll be coordinating this more in depth soon.

Sorry I missed the Atl South tag on it lol, this is the first tourney thread I've made since the Xenforo switch. Now that I'm done with SKTAR, time to go in with this. I'll be stepping up the promotion into overdrive with this event this week. Everyone be sure to do the one frame link vote that has been posted already, and I'll be on that soon as well. Time to show what this community does.

While I completely understand, no tournament is worth it if that's the way you think about it .
Not saying that in the profit perspective, more of I pay $40 to play with some ppl (cool) but get my ass handed to me in the tourney (not so cool/fun)
I know you can learn from these matches and all of that, but it is fun to win a bit too. Idk, I feel like I need to get a bit better before I go to something like this, even tho it sounds really cool.

If you're looking for practice on the cheap, then it's best to seek out locals. This is one of the biggest FGC events of the year, akin to our nationals. Same price as events like SKTAR, Apex, etc. This is where you can immerse yourself in gaming for multiple days, get to play an extremely varied set of players, enter tons of different events, and spectate some of the best at work.

That simply won't be the case. Our community is being offered a great opportunity here, and is something I've worked hard to help make happen. It's on you and the community at large to help make it successful. Negativity does nothing but hurt it, while positivity will only help make it grow into something bigger and better. Look at what happened with Evo, there is no need to throw away the momentum we've started to get from that.

Focus instead on having a great time and experience, and I can promise that myself and the hosts of the event will do everything in our power to help deliver that.

Yes guys please come out and support the game you love. You guys have a very large community and things can only get better if you continue to support it by coming to events.
