Not sure if placebo but char def feels like he's jumping higher on the initial jump.

He seems to ascend faster too. Am i wrong?

:006:
No, he definitely seems to jump higher on the initial jump. Before, a single jump couldn't propel him past the grass on Duck Hunt, but now it does.

So the jump definitely got buffed, and I know his aerials have less lag.

Jump seems to be the exact same height unless the 3ds and WiiU battlefield have different height platforms.

EDIT: I'm bad at labbing, when I retesting them all the aerials have the same landing lag. I guess I was holding the shoulder button for too long on the gamecube controller.

I'm using Duck Hunt as a comparison since it's easier to tell differences with by using the grass as a measuring stick. And it definitely seems that Charizard does seem to get a bit higher now than he did in the Royu patch. Before, he was half above the grass in a single jump, but now he goes a full body above it.

I tend to hold the button, though, which might be why.

If you guys got proof of anything send it my way but you will need a gif it vid evidence to prove it.

Otherwise it is placebo.

Usmash was changed in patches still not sure what exactly got moved around though.

So uh falling Uair to Fair is a true combo and I think it wasn't prepatch. I honestly don't know. Can someone with a prepatch game confirm?

Starts working at a bit below 40 on DK with both characters facing each other.

I've also been able to get Uair -> Uair to combo a few percent earlier on some characters.

Really hoping I'm not just a **** labber.

I knew it felt the same, or at least that if it was reduced not by enough for it to matter, this is a bit upsetting. It's nice that Charizard has gotten some sort of buff every patch, it would be nice if he got the buff that truly would make him good. That's to say, less landing lag, more air speed, those two things alone could easily make Charizard a very viable character.

Ehh, hopefully in the next patch, for now I'll still use Charizard, hitting with his back air is just way too satisfying...love that tail whip.

Maybe I'm just weird, but it definitely feels like there was a cut to his landing lag on aerials. Not a massive one, granted, but it's very noticable when I compare it to my initial experience with him at launch and between the Royu patch and now. He recovers from SHop aerials a fair bit quicker, certainly; before, there was a bit of lag after landing a SHop aerial, now there's not nearly as much. At least AFAICT.

And I swear it feels like his jump height got buffed, but I'm not sure if that's placebo taking effect or not.

Feeling is a very bad way to judge things, we are looking at timings that last less then a second, far too short for the human mind to accurately judge. you need to test to make sure.

I did frame advancing in training mode with a jabbing Little Mac(4 frames of animation each one distinct) to make sure I didn't skip any and got the same landing lag frames. Freezing on the hight of the jump he jumps to the same point. (Short: arms just above low battlefield platform, full: head just above top battlefield platform.)

Un-related to the patch, but I kinda messed up calculating the hitbox representation for Charizard's Back Air.

This should be a more accurate result.
Back Air: http://gfycat.com/LimpingIndolentBeetle

Since I've gotten the tail conversions down, I can post hitbox representations of Charizard's tail attacks (as weird as it sounds).

Side Tilt: http://gfycat.com/RadiantMelodicCrocodile

Neutral Air: http://gfycat.com/PhonyOpenCowbird

I should be able to get hitbox representations of Up Tilt, Down Smash, Dash Attack, Down Tilt, Side Smash, and Down Air though, as those moves' hitboxes are either attached to the root bone (TransN) or the RotN bone. I just need to port their animations first. It might take a bit for me to get to Jab, Forward Air, Up Smash, and Up Air though. I won't do the Specials, as I have to wait until the moveset files are more identified, due to multiple commands I'm not familiar with.

These are my favorite of Charizard's attacks by far, nice stuff, I like the gifs. Really is impressive how much range his bair has, that's one super long tail.

I'll be happy the day Charizard's up smash hits players behind him. These buffs are nice, though, and I do like the change to his dash attack. It'll always put opponents in a bad position.

Dash Attack total frames reduced, from 44 -> 39. It was just found out by lordwilliam at the 1.1.3 thread.
Edit: it sent my message twice for some reason, plz forgive me mods

Did FSmash always have 7 frames of endlag? It feels like it used to have more, but maybe I'm just not remembering correctly.
Uhh you wouldn't be able to punish Fsmash if it only had 7. Kurogane has it listed as 46 frames between the last hitbox and the FAF so I'm gonna go with no.

Even MK's has 18 between the last hitbox and the FAF and that's considered one of the safest Fsmashes in the game.

That D-tilt hitbox is kind of small. Explains some of the whiffs I've had with it, though I guess the hitbox kinda makes sense.

I've noticed that upsmash is a bit easier to hit now with the changes. Besides upsmash, what was changed about downsmash to make it better again?

Not much, just that it KOs a bit earlier. It isn't a huge buff... unless we're talking free-for-all casual games omg OP.

I drew something for you lizards.

Charizard is so fun to draw. If any of you guys want me to draw 'zard doing whatever, let me know, and I'll try!

It's also good practice for me.

Very nice picture, I always wished I could draw but never had the motivation to practice, maybe someday I'll practice

and when it comes to drawing Zard stuff, anything that shows off his amazing tail is something I'd enjoy!

Something that shows off his tail, huh.... I'll think of something.

Even a little bit of practice, like drawing circles and other shapes, helps. I used to draw like garbage a few years ago, and oh man, I wasted so much paper on random shapes. But, it did help even if it didn't seem to at the time.

And here's the finished drawing!

You know something that would make your drawing 100 times better? Make the sword surrounded by flames.

Though onto other things, I've got the final attack hitboxes that I can get.

Down Smash: http://gfycat.com/CheeryImpassionedLadybird

Forward Air: http://gfycat.com/DistinctPassionateIrukandjijellyfish

Side Special: http://gfycat.com/CluelessSorrowfulGoldfinch

Side Special Explosion (I believe this is an article, like Sheik's Up Special explosion, hence the still image): http://i.imgur.com/jxOx3BJ.png
(I'm placing it on the Neck because I'm assuming the Article might be attached to the Neck bone, as that's where the initial Side Special collision is attached to as well)

Up Special (uses the exact same hitbox placements, damage, knockback, and timers as Brawl): http://gfycat.com/AngelicFrightenedElectriceel

Down Special: http://gfycat.com/DirectSparklingCrocodile

These gifs are great for my timing and spacing man, awesome work! Is there any hurtbox data out there that could eventually be incorporated?

I love Charizard gify's, even if it is just to look at his tail, though hitboxes are amazing and great to have, I'd love to see similar things for Mewtwo (For tail and spacing help) and Cloud, if they don't already exist.

Shoot, there was one more attack I forgot, which was Dash Attack.

Edit: I messed up on Dash Attack and forgot Up Tilt.

Edit 2: Messed up on Down Special as well.

Up Tilt: http://gfycat.com/QualifiedAlienatedHamadryas

Down Special: http://gfycat.com/SeparateHugeBee

Unfortunately, I wouldn't know. The only additional thing I can think of that I'm able to get is grab collisions for when a character tries to grab.

I'll might be able to get to Mewtwo, but not Cloud. While Cloud's moveset file was ripped, his 3DS model and animations weren't.

Here it is! I'll be sure to shade it soon, when I have the time.

That sounds like it's going to be fun. I'll try to get a sketch done by tonight. Linework will be a few days.

nice, though I would have preferred a back shot showing off his tail I'm not the artist and this is still awesome, thanks.

Can someone help me out? Can Charizard Dash Dance? At least I think thats what I'm referring to. Maybe not constantly back and forth but where in the middle of a dash you can immediately turn around without skidding or sliding?

I can do it with DK but for the life of me I can't do it with Charizard.

Everyone can dash dance, but all the characters have different timings since their dash animations have different lengths. I think that Zard's dash animation is a bit longer than DK's so trying doing it with a later timing.

I think you're referring to dance trotting. Charizard's initial dash is super short so I don't know how far it'll go. I think it will be shorter than DK's based on their perfect pivot lengths though. That being said, I have personally never been able to find the correct timing.
