Today, the world famous European eSports festival Dreamhack announced that Super Smash Bros. Melee will be at Dreamhack London 2015 and Dreamhack Winter 2015! The two tournaments will have a combined $50,000 prize pool, with $20,000 for Dreamhack London 2015 and $30,000 for Dreamhack Winter 2015. Dreamhack London 2015 will have only a singles event, while Dreamhack Winter 2015 will host a singles and doubles event.

Additionally, many of Europe's best will be in attendance at Dreamhack London 2015, including Armada, Ice, and Professor Pro. Dreamhack has acknowledged that Dreamhack London 2015 will take place at the same time as the recently announced HTC Throwdown. ”We had planned this event for a long time, just like HTC, and even if this is an unfortunate collision of dates, we see this as a possible to build the Smash community in both North America and Europe.” said Christian Lord, Head of eSports at DreamHack. They have even stated that they would gladly invite the top 2 players from Dreamhack London 2015 and the HTC Throwdown to Dreamhack Winter 2015 and provide travel and accomidation for them!

Dreamhack London 2015 will be streamed on GeekyGoonSquad from September 19th-20th at the Copper Box Arena in London, England. Full details and registration for the event can be found here.

I thought this was about a (fan-made) port of Melee to the Dreamcast.
Ah well, still pretty cool.

Perhaaaaps...but NTSC melee might be up, since PAL brings significant changes for Falco, Shiek and Marth players.
All PAL region tournaments are run on PAL. This isn't up for speculation, they've been using PAL at tourneys since Melee came out.

I'm not a Melee player, but holy **** this is awesome!

Great exposure for the community in general and just awesome to see big events that have never had FGs involved picking up the game!
