Olimar's generally all-around in this one (able to kill of of both the top and sides, good recovery, etc.) and it feels like he'd be decent on just about any stage. Let's talk about which stages are good/bad for other characters and how we can abuse them.
Does anyone have any suggestions as far as which stages benefit/harm opponents? If so, just kinda post them here.

I'll start off by saying that Kirby likes Duck Hunt because of the close horizontal blastzones and the fact that Uthrow near the tree kills early (since they can make it hit the top branch).
Also, R.O.B. has some tricks on Halberd, and he kills really well off of the top. :/

Unconfirmed crap:
High ceiling and close horizontal blastzones in Duck Hunt could be bad for ROB.
A Falcon main once told me that Lylat is terrible for Falcon, but IDK about that, especially since that was before the Lylat slope fix.
Charizard/Metaknight might also do well on Duck Hunt?

Questions:
Does Lylat still mess with characters like Fox/Falco/Ness now that it's sloped?

Stuff found in other boards:
DK64 is really bad for Bowser. (1)
Delfino could be good for Bowser. (1)
"Another thing, there are stages that you should just avoid with Bowser. If you play Doubles, Kongo Jungle 64 should be one of your immediate bans on counter pick. Your recovery is sometime just completely ignored by the ledge, and it happens often at that. For singles, avoid Battlefield Omega. It will also mess with your recovery due to weird ledges, and it doesn't have the advantages that Town and City gives you."(1)
Hates FD against characters that can zone better than him (1)
Likes Duck Hunt for the general safety it provides. (1)
Likes SV as a neutral (1)
Falcons seem to love BF. (1)
Charizard may (1) or may not (2) like FD/Omegas.
FINDING NUFFIN'!
DKs seem to favor Battlefield/Lylat (1)
Smashville is his ideal stage
Hates larger stages
Hates Battlefield
Kills horizontally (1)
Lylat is his best starter
Duck Hunt may be his worst stage
PS2 may be good for him (1)
Halberd/BF might be good for him.
He prefers to kill off the top?
Duck Hunt might be bad for him.(1)
Nada for now
Battlefield appears to be his best stage.
Town & City might be good as well.(1)
Most seem to agree that FD is bad for them against projectile spammers and Kongo Jungle is just bad for them in general.
Duck Hunt may also be good for campers. (1)

Duck Hunt is bad for Yoshi; high ceiling (Yoshi tends to kill vertically), ducks interfere with eggs, close horizontal blastzones (1) (2) (3)

This is probably obvious but stages like lylat and battlefield yoshi's hate because it takes away from their egg camp game due to the platforms. Yoshi's love stages like FD and smash ville because with eggs that prop olimar into the air so easily and with yoshi's amazing air mobility its just so bad for us that our only options are to respect him and power shield..
Duck hunt seems good for us with the high ceiling since most of what yoshi would be going for is down B, u-air,fsmash which all are vertical kills.

The Yoshis seem to be somewhat split on platform stages, but it seems to lean more in favor of "Yoshi can do tons of crap to people on platforms".
Some also disagree with it being bad for the eggs.

Big points include:
Dairing someone on a platform can lead to a shield break (1)
Usmash covers a large portion of low platforms (2)
"If you're both ground level, just grounded Egg Toss; if you're on the platform, you can soft toss under the platform or hard toss anywhere else." (3)

See:
Yoshi's potential on platforms
Yoshi Stage Discussion

Does Yoshi even need egg camping as much against us? I was under the impression that he has to rush us down.

I mean again'st yoshi i try my best to stay off platforms and then see it as taking advantage when yoshi himself happens to be on platforms..maybe its just me personally with the eggs and it distracts me from what options he chooses to approach and rush me down and prolly the guy I always play with who mains yoshi.

I think I get it. You try to stay grounded and bottleneck him with the platforms, sharking him when he tries to land on them.
The only issue I'd have with that is that he might be able to do so more effectively than we can, and we'd be at more of a disadvantage if we were in that situation. He does have better priority and mobility than we do, so getting grounded would probably be easier for him overall.
This is just theory, though. I'm still kinda Brawl-era, and I'm still adjusting to our new Oli and the new Yoshi.

Can anyone else provide another opinion on Yoshi stages from an Olimar PoV or anything that we've been discussing regarding BF/Lylat platforms?

P.S. Added Duck Hunt to the Yoshi section. Thank you. ^^

Yo in case you happen to be on hiatus with personal things,or are still alive haha, I've personally have become much better with the yoshi matchup, so one thing is for certain I personally prefer SV since powershielding helps with his eggs and as much as he can benefit from platforms its better if we had more space overall to run away, IE avoid battlefield and especially halberd because his vertical kills, will kill super early on that stage. As long as we have more room to run away tbh we win and do so much better with pivot grabs and smashes and just plain
running away and pikmin tosses.

Ooohh also this is prolly common sense but since Town and City has a smaller horizontal blast zone I ban this all the time vs ness cuz u know his back throw will kill even earlier..Same with sonic ,despite the nerf to his back throw, we are tiny space man olimar and it still kills us earlier on this stage

My opinion and experience.

:4pikachu:
Likes: Platform based Stages, Castle Siege, Delfino Plaza, etc.
Dislikes: Final and Duck Hunt.

Castle Siege and every stage with platforms, due to Quick Attack and combo possibilities for him.

:4duckhunt:
Likes: Final and Halberd (they kill easily with Uair).
Dislikes: Platform based stages, Delfino and Castle Siege.

They don't usually throw the disk higher so they stay close to the ground. Halberd make them easy to kill with Uair.

:4falcon:
Likes: Platform based, A LOT.
Dislikes: Lylat due to edges, stages with angled ledges and maybe Halberd.

Don't have too much problem except for Halberd I guess, just because the long platform will mess around his baits and moves.

:4falco::4fox:
Likes: Any stage at all, I'm not sure if they have problems specifically.
Dislikes: Lylat.

Just guessing, don't know.
