romani ranch from majora's mask set during the invasion would make a very good stage (that statement also works for hyrule warriors discussion)

Anyone think Rayquaza might appear as a stage boss as a throwback to Brawl?
He'd need a stage first where he fits in, like Sky Tower, or a stage inspired by Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire.

Otherwise, his best bet would be becoming a Master Ball pokemon, like Palkia was turned into.

I could see an Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire stage happening, especially with all the hype the Hoenn remakes are getting right now.

I dunno about that. X and Y, remember?

A whole new generation to focus on, as well as Black/White if they wanted to as 5th Gen didn't exist yet during Brawl development.

We already have 2 X/Y stages as well. Any other Pokemon stages doesn't feel likely to be from Ruby/Sapphire. Most likely, it'd be Pokemon Stadium 3, if it exists.

Then again, for all we know Pokemon Stadium 3 could be based on the Hoenn Remakes. Wouldn't surprise me. Or heck since you mentioned 5th gen, it could be based on the Pokemon World Tournament from Black/White 2.

Tbh, I'd prefer a stage such as this, from Pokemon Battle Revolution.

Can you imagine how amazing this would look on the Wii U? As a Smash Bros. stage?

The stage that needs to be added is Cave of Origin, because Mewtwo needs his own stage.
Wasn't the Cave of Origin where Kyogre and Groudon "lived" in Gen 3 (besides Emerald)?

That being said, it WOULD be interesting to see what they do for the 2nd new Pokemon stage. It seems like ever since Melee there were 2 new Pokemon stages per game (that being said, there were only 2 games after Smash 64, so I guess I'm extrapolating a bit). It looked like there was 1 stadium/battling stage and one "other" stage (other being Poke Floats and Spear Pillar). I wonder what the "other" stage for Pokemon will be this time around.....

GEEZ total blank, I got my caves confused, as I wanted either one to be a stage in the game. So Cerulean Cave or Cave of Origin would be pretty cool.

So yeah, we have Brawl stages on 3DS. And, by extension, we can get HD remastered Melee stages!

Honestly, i wouldn't count any leak saying Green Hill Zone on the 3DS.

But that's because i expected it to return after Sonic was confirmed.

Hi everyone,

I'm starting something new for the Week in Review where I go into one thread per week and ask a series of questions/ask for opinions over a certain topic. Some of these are Top 10 Lists.

In the next issue, I will be featuring a segment titled "Top 10 Wanted Stages". That being said, what are your top 10 most wanted stages? Please include them like so:

1. New stage (franchise name)
2.
3.
4.

1 being your most wanted and 10 being your least most wanted. Please include the stage name and franchise. Responders will be featured on the WiR!

For me:

1. Bowser's Castle (Super Mario Bros.)
2. Guar Plains (Xenoblade)
3. Twilit Palace (Legend of Zelda)
4. Nintendoland (Nintendoland)
5. Mario Party (Mario Bros.)
6. Katrina (Star Fox)
7. Sunset Shore (Donkey Kong)
8. AR Camera (3DS. Can play anywhere)
9. Phandora Drifts (Metroid)
10. Murasame Castle (Nazo no Murasame Jo)

Don't know how late I am, but this looks fun so I'll give it a shot.

1. Clock Town/Tower (Majora's Mask)
2. Lightning: Loop Cross. (F-Zero GX)
3. Phendrana Drifts (Metroid Prime)
4. Flying Battery Zone (Sonic & Knuckles)
5. Airship Fortress (Super Mario Bros 3)
6. Sanctuary Fortress (Metroid Prime 2)
7. Wacky Workbench (Sonic CD)
8. Shadow Temple, specifically Bongo Bongo's Drum (Ocarina of Time)
9. Minecart Madness (Donkey Kong Country Franchise)
10. The Stone Tower (Majora's Mask)

It took a great deal of willpower to not just list Majora's Mask locales over and over again; Clock Tower, Southern Swamp boat tour, Woodfall Temple outside, Woodfall Temple's spinning platform on the inside, Deku Palace, Snowhead, Snowhead Temple's Center (could rise and fall to change the layout), Zora's Domain stage, Gyorg's Room, Ikana Canyon, the farm that Aliens attack, Stone Tower, Ikana Castle... the list goes on and on. I don't know how they decided to go with Great Bay in Melee. -_-

I could have also comfortably listed every single Sonic CD level; that game had some great variety and a time travel gimmick could be interesting. Perhaps the stage goes to the past, and if the players destroy part of the stage there then the stage eventually travels to a good future, but will otherwise go to a bad future? Wacky Workbench just seemed the most fun.

I suspect all indoor stages were ruled out since the moon had to be in view but that still leaves many other options.
Don't be sad though, we got Majora's Mask itself as a stage and it was great.
I think from a gameplay perspective Stone Tower makes the most sense; I sort of picture a platform that rises up from the bottom all the way to the top of stone tower, with the occasional falling rock or weird block pattern shifting as hazards; nothing too ridiculous but enough to keep it interesting; once they get to the top the background/hazards could flip, and they could 'rise' back to the bottom. It would be such an interesting stage both visually and in terms of design.

If they needed to see the moon, they should have done Clock Tower. :/

So did that supposed leak call Green Hill 3DS?
If you're talking about the guy that posted the supposed 3DS stage roster, then no. He specifically noted that were no Brawl stages on the 3DS.

I'm glad. The Sonic stage on 3DS he named was Sky Road, and I would have been so disappointed that with Sonic's rich history, he'd only be getting some stages from Lost World. How lame would that be?

So.....thoughts on the stage builder returning? I sure hope it does. Honestly, I care less about PM type potential than I do about making amazing stages.

If it does return, I hope there's more customisation options, in terms of aesthetics (e.g. backgrounds, different terrain, objects, etc.) I barely touched Stage Builder in Brawl 'cos the stages felt boring to play on.

Guys, I just had the craziest idea: all of the SSB64 stages as ONE stage. It'd be like Palutena's temple where its massive & has many different sections, all of the 64 stages are brought together in 1 place.

...that's crazy, Mat. I love it!

Anyway, I enjoy how they managed to make each stage with its own Final Destination version. As a fan of Final Destination but who get a bit tired of the how it looks and always wishing for more color.

Not sure if anyone said this yet, but I think Miiverse could be a cool stage to replace Pictochat from Brawl.

Posts (Goku and Shrek requests) made in real time show up in the background only when you're connected to the internet. Yeah-Bombs are a stage hazard, as well as Miiverse Admins.

I'm still hoping for stages from Wrecking Crew, Pushmo, Puzzle League, Mole Mania, Duck Hunt...

Casino Night was the most popular level in the old Sonic games after Green Hill and its variations, so it would be great to see that, probably on the 3DS. I'm not sure how pinball could be incorporated into Smash, but it's not hard to imagine roulettes, slots, neon lights and bumpers everywhere.

I had an idea for a stage most appropriately called "Oblivion Wings," where you'd fight on the wingspan of Yveltal as it soars through stormy skies. It could have one of those vertigo backgrounds like Halberd. Since the main platform would be a living creature, it would actually react to being attacked; if too many attacks hit Yveltal, he'd retaliate in some way, like an energy blast to the offender, or shaking everyone off.

Since Giygas has become memetic, it would be neat to have a stage set in his strange void where his face kaleidoscopes in the background. The main platform could be fleshy and gross like the Devil's Machine.

A stage based on Pencilvania from Balloon Kid would be beyond cute with that music.
