Super Smash Bros. for WiiU & 3DS director Masahiro Sakurai said: "Pic of the day. Now that the game is out in Japan, the Conquest mode will be available in online multiplayer in the Japanese version. This is what the title screen will look like for the overseas version. In this mode, the game aggregates global wins among specific teams during a limited time and determines the victor. If you choose a participating fighter from the With Anyone option, you'll automatically participate in Conquest. We'll be running Conquest in beta for a while."

At first when I saw the colors on the pie chart, I thought that this would tally wins from team battles where those colors were used. However, it looks like it's just those characters and not the team colors. Kind of interesting I guess. I wonder if there will be a rewards system in place with this... like betting coins on which character group has the highest percentage at the end of the week.

I find it funny people are complaining about it being a menu. I mean the 3DS version is out in Japan, there isn't that much new info he can reveal. That is unless there are ~3 months worth of unknown Wii-U features.

Oh! That makes much more sense; this way is like a really basic way to get matchup data. Maybe it will help show character trends to let them know if a character might be overpowered for a future patch.

Kinda disappointed it isn't what I thought it was, but at the same time, this is a really cool feature. Just wish we could have that crew battle mode too.
