Sequencing Turnips

For some reason I became interested in the PRNG for Peach's turnips. And then I became interested in real-world patterns and the possible maximum length.

This small dataset is simply Peach's first turnip pull tried on different frames (all frames within a range)

All I know for now is that the pattern length is above or below 65535 :awesome:
This is not an attempt to find pull-rates; already done elsewhere. The findings of this small dataset doesn't represent theoretical maximums.
Therefore, we cannot conclude that 5 consecutive Stitch-faces is not possible (ie. 5 in 5 frames). Remember, this is about the pattern of a single first turnip pull; consecutive frames rather than consecutive pulls.

I will update this data set once I have time to figure out the PRNG (possibly never).


Features of this Subset:

Two consecutive Stitch-faces occurs once.
The longest consecutive sequence consists of 4 winking-faces.
The highest concentration of Stitch-faces is 5 within 41 frames.

Just a thought; if it were possible to figure out how to abuse the RNG, buffering rolls and spotdodges followed by rapidly pressing Down B might be abusable if there's a high concentration of Stitchfaces/Bombs.

interesting thought. any idea how melee reads the buffered inputs / how they would effect RNG? if its truly RNG, is there any way to manipulate the seed value?

i asked IE6 about the pseudo-randomness of melee. he said in many cases it depends on a unique value set by the save state, in addition to the total number of frames since boot and a whole slew of other values. it will be near impossible to detect a pattern if that is the case.
