PM3.6 | Alternate Stage Loader not working on Console .iso

Configurable USB Loader (USB and SD) / Also I tried it on Dolphin, same result

I created an .iso for Console loading using the console .iso builder in the Netplay build. Seeing as how it's a console .iso and not a netplay .iso, I think the Alternate Stage Loader should work, but when I hold L and select a stage, it only loads the default stage.

This is the default build, no custom content.

I've tried using different configurations with the image builder, none of which have worked.

ASL doesn't work with PM ISOs.

Is there any plans to fix it? I've heard it's because the ASL checks the SD card instead of the 'disc', so it sounds like it shouldn't be too hard to tell it to look at the disc as a backup/instead for the netplay version.
