Was playing agains the Peach CPU when she suddenly pulled a beam sword out of the ground instead of a turnip. No items were on and it happened on Yoshi's Island.

This is not a bug. She has a low chance of pulling a Mr. Saturn, Bomb-omb, or Beam Sword in every game she's been in.

She's always had a random chance of pulling a beam sword, bobomb, or Mr. Saturn in brawl, melee, and pm.
