Apex 2015 Emergency Update Thread​

We have setup a thread in order to communicate details regarding Apex 2015. These details will be coming officially from Apex staff for release. There are a lot of details and rumors flying around social media, this thread will only contain information that the Apex staff has confirmed on site and will be updated only once those details are finalized,with time stamps.

Update 12 (February 1st @ 11:45PM)

Estimate bus schedule below, only 1 bus confirmed at this time, seats 50, assumes 1.5 hour round trip
  • Shuttle info for tonight (Saturday) is in update #9
  • Shuttle has just been confirmed for tomorrow morning. Below is the estimated schedule, shuttle is leaving the Clarion and arriving at the venue

  • Shuttle is confirmed for this evening. Below is the estimated schedule, shuttle is leaving venue and going to the Clarion

  • It is still crucial that the community work together to get everyone from the venue back to the hotel

  • Taxi services have been alerted that the venue area will have a high volume of needs
Update 8 (Jan 31 @ 8:15AM)
  • New warroom being established for coordination.

  • First wave of pools starts in 45 minutes.
  • Volunteers will still be in huge demand on site.

Update 7 (Jan 31 @ 7:30AM)
  • Patricia Rivera at the Somerset Bridgewater has setup a deal for Apex attendees, they still have room. $70 a night, call 732 - 560 - 0500, they are located at 110 Davidson Ave, Somerset, NJ 08873 (across highway from venue)
  • REMINDER: Your pool info (wave #, who is in it) is unchanged. What has changed: when you play! See the new schedule linked in Update #5
  • REMINDER: Organizers were able to move the entire event in under 12 hours to a previously unsourced venue. The situation is obviously not ideal for anyone, but they are relying on Smashers to step up to help each other move around and execute plans to get the to venue at designated pool times. DQs will be occurring or else this event will not be able to run on the already strained schedule.
  • If you are reading this update and are in a 9AM pool and are still at the Clarion, you need to be leaving ASAP to get the venue in time.
Update 6 (Jan 31 @ 2:00AM)
  • One shuttle is confirmed to start at 7:45AM - a bus with 50 seating - please only use if no other options present and you are in an early pool. Bus takes 40 minutes to get to venue so assume 1 hour and 30 minute loops.
  • More will try to be sourced in the morning - most services have shut for the night.
  • Bus is being financed by Apex, not Twitch as some have reported.
Update 5 (Jan 30 @ 10:40PM)
  • The new schedule is here. No events are cancelled.
  • There are some changes to structure, view the link.
  • First pools start at 9AM, Venue opens at 8AM. Plan accordingly.
  • Wave and pools assignments are unchanged (e.g. you are still in the same "Wave" and Pool with the same players)
  • Venue is near 100% setup as of this time. ~12 hours ago this event was nearly canceled.
  • Shuttles are NOT 100% confirmed at this time. It is being worked on but confirmation may not come until early on Saturday.
Update 4 (Jan 30 @ 8:00PM)
  • Almost entire tournament staff is at the new venue
  • Nearly all (85%) of the CRTs are setup and Wii's are setup at the new venue
  • Similar situation for Wii U and LCD monitors provided by Gaming Generations
  • Sound system and projector system is setup, pipe and drape is being placed
  • Nintendude is very close to finalizing the schedule - we'll have it up as soon as it is finished
  • Twitch saved the day contracting the new venue (Bifuteki found the venue)
  • Redbull eSports pitched in with trucks
  • Still no word on shuttle schedules from previous venue to the Garden
  • Things are far more positive that they looked 10 hours ago
Update 3 (Jan 30 @ 6:00PM)
  • Last of equipment loaded for transport to new venue, including all CRTs.
  • No schedules yet.
Update 2 (Jan 30 @ 3:03PM)
  • Doubletree hotel near Garden State Convention Center is sold out of rooms
  • Pokemon will occur on Saturday (at new venue)
  • New schedule is still not set
  • CRTs are still in old venue
  • Busing is still being worked on
Update 1 (Jan 30 @ 1:47PM)
  • Venue will be moved to the Garden State Convention located at 50 Atrium Dr, Somerset New Jersey
  • No tournament matches will be played on Friday
  • Staff will be working overtime to get everything to new venue and set by Saturday morning
  • Staff is reworking schedule to complete tournaments on a 2-day timeline
  • Additional updates will be posted as they come in officially from Apex staff
  • Twitch buses will be setup on a schedule between the Clarion Hotel and Garden State Convention
  • Schedule will be released by midnight ET
