Outside of money-matches and rivalries, this is not a match-up we'll run into often but consider this an exercise to get a better grasp on our own weaknesses and limitations, and how we (and others) can exploit them. Some starting topics but not limited to: Getting in, Keeping MK out, Stage control, Punishing, Juggling MK, and Edge-guarding.

Hmm, seems like stage presence should make a big difference in this matchup. MK is one of the few characters (quite possibly the only one) who can reliably edgeguard MK. I'm honestly not sure how well air chasing would work.

I hate this MU and if I can avoid it I would.

Neutral is basically trying to position yourself at mid range which basically means you'll always be on the move, dash attack, dash grab and alot resetting. MK dittos are basic as hell, if you know more about MK than the other person you will win no questions asked. The reason i say this is because you'll know what you can and cannot do in certain situations, you'll know what combo's to go for in order to get maximum damage and the list goes on. Ftilt is very good at beating MKs approach options, much better than Dtilt but then again this is one of the few MUs where Dtilt isn't completely overshadowed by Ftilt.

If you know how to use tornado better than the other MK, you have a huge advantage already. Tornado will be the main move used to cover ledge options. MKs advantage and disadvantage state is dumb and he's virtually impossible to edgeguard if he uses drill rush(Nair beats Shutte loop). Dont try to edgeguard if the MK is aware of drill rush beating all of MKs aerials, just wait on the ledge and try to get some damage by punishing his ledge options.

Its common to encounter a situation where DA into shuttle loop won't work, so it'll be a competition on who can get the f smash read,tornado or up throw. Footstool combos are very easy to land against MK, 0-10% you can DA --> Uair ---> footstool ---> FF Bair.

you cant really gimp mk but an effective edgeguard when you have stage control and more jumps is to go super low and shuttle loop them as they pass overhead with drill rush, or contest them head on with fair horizontally if they try to also go low and shuttle loop directly to the ledge.

If he uses drill for whatever reason, n-air will trade with it and send you both flying. Get ready to wall tech if you contest his drill like this, it can be an easy "suicide" KO.
