FXBG Smash #1 is the first installment of a bi weekly Smash 4 tournament series that takes place in Fredericksburg VA starting on 5/7/2016. The venue fee is only 2$ and signing up for the singles tournament is only 3$. If you are able to bring a complete Wii U setup (console, tv, game, and gamecube adapter) you will not have to pay the venue fee! Hopefully this will motivate people to bring enough Smash 4 setups so that everyone can play. Please inform anyone you think will be interested in attending this event so that we can have a successful launch and create a foundation for future events in the summertime. Overall i just want everyone who attends to have a really good time so please whether you're a frequent tournament goer or its your 1st tourney ever please come out and enjoy yourself.
Schedule:
The Venue will open up at 5:00pm for people to begin playing friendlies.
At 6:00 registration will begin. Registration will close exactly at 6:30pm, please be responsible and on time to avoid being denied entry for being late to the tournament.
The Tournement should wrap up by 9:00pm but we have the building until 10:00pm just in case the tournement runs longer than anticipated for whatever reason.
Tournament Format:
If there are less than 8 entrants for Smash4 singles we will do a round robin.
If there are more then 8 entrants for Smash4 singles we will have a traditional double elimination bracket.
All sets are Best of 3 until top 8.
Top 8 will be Best of 5 (subject to change in case we run late.)
Rules:
We will be using the same from Pound 2016 for FXBG Smash events, a complete printed copy of the ruleset will be available at every setup.
Payouts: If there is less than 8 people, 1st place gets 90% of the singles pot and 2nd place gets the remaining 10%.
If there is more than 8 people, 1st place gets 70%, 2nd place gets 20%, 3rd gets 10%.

Stage Striking
Players play a best-of-1 Rock-Paper-Scissors, and winner may choose to either strike a stage first or select a port first. Stages are stuck in a 1-2-2-1 order.
Stage Bans
After each game of the set, before counterpicking, the player who won the previous game may ban one stage from either the starter or counterpick list.
Stage Clause
A player/team may not pick any stage they previously won on during the set.
Self-Destruct Moves
If a match ends with a self-destruct move, the results screen will determine the winner. If a sudden death occurs, standard sudden death rules apply.
Team Colors
Players’ character colors must match their team's color when possible, to avoid confusion (ex: Luigi on the green team must use the green costume).
Controllers
The only legal controllers are wired Gamecube controllers or Wii U Pro controllers with battery physically removed. If you use a wireless controller and it interferes with a match you will be disqualified from the tournament.
Event Rules:
1. Be nice to each other, have fun, and use common sense. Focus on these three things and we all shouldn't have any issues.
2. You are responsible for your own belongings. The FXBG Smash staff, as well as the owners of the venue are not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage that occurs on tournament grounds.
3. Verbal abuse and fighting is not tolerated. Anyone doing so will be asked to leave the venue without a refund.
4. Possession of alcohol, drugs, or weapons is forbidden.
5. No smoking or vaping in the building, please just inform a TO that you are leaving for a quick smoke and you should be fine.
6. By entering the venue you consent to having your likeness being used by any media recorded from the event for any publishing outlets

- All DLC characters as of 5/7/16 are legal
- Mii Fighters are legal. Each setup will have 1-1-1-1 Mii Brawlers/Swordsmen/Gunners available for use (Using Default A Mii). No other specials for Mii Fighters will be allowed. Players are not allowed to transfer existing Miis to a setup
