Hey Smashers.
My school, the Savannah College of Art and Design, is hosting a convention of sorts, and my incessant lobbying nabbed us a Smash tourney. We're planning on running ALL FOUR Smash iterations, as well as offering some dedicated friendlies tables and maybe like Mario Kart or Street Fighter or something on the side. Whatever you wanna do, man. (We're polling people to see if we should add SF4/UMvC3/Tekken/etc.).

Each Smash tourney will ideally be run simultaneously next to each other. If not, I'll give a heads up regarding specific times.

Dates:
May 3rd and 4th (main tourneys on the 3rd; the 4th is for additional friendlies, side events, and finals from Day One if turnout is big enough.)
Location:
Embassy Suites - Ballroom A
605 West Oglethorpe Avenue
Savannah, Georgia 31401

Signups:
Anytime between 10am to 2pm both days.

Tournament Time:
3-10pm Saturday, 3-8pm Sunday

Entry Fees and Money Stuff:
-$5 venue fee (this only applies if Smash is the only activity you're doing at the con, which I assume is most people reading this)
-$5 entry per game
-Free entry to one game of your choice if you bring a full setup (TV, console, game)
-Cash payouts will have 100% of the entry fees going in, paid to top 4. Percents TBD. I'm considering throwing in some guaranteed pot bonuses as well.

Rules:
You know the drill. Nothing fancy or different from the standard rulesets: appropriate stock counts and match timers, no items, strike/counterpick stages if you want to, you get it. It's not really going to be strictly upheld, unless some argument or discrepancy arises in a match, then we'll have to whip out the fine print and everyone will be butthurt over a controller port fiasco or something. Just be cool brah.

Since this is technically a Con, we're setting up a lot of other events which you could screw around at between matches or whatever. This includes stuff like Artist Alley, panels, and other goodies.

For more info, you can check the full schedule at http://swarmcon.info/information-2/events-and-panel/. Also if I screwed anything up or you have any suggestions/comments/whatever just tell me and I'm pretty willing to change anything I can, if it's what the players want.

alright cool

Hey guys, good news. Venue fee is now only 5 dollars instead of 15, if all you're looking to do at the con is play Smash. Yaaaaaay!

I would guess Brawl will be the most represented attendance-wise, being a college-hosted event and all, most casual players prefer Brawl.
