Hey everyone, the plans at northwestern didn't work out so we will be running the event at Top Cut Comics again. We'll schedule all events to not overlap as much as last time to deal with the amount of space we have. The date has also moved back a week which we apologize for. There is plenty of parking around the venue. More details will be posted in the next day or two as well as the pre-registration form. We will require everyone to fill out the form to participate in the tournament so that we can finalize all pools and brackets for the day of the tournament. You can opt to pay at the door so online payments are not required.

So this is still going for march 7th? If I were to go to this I would need to be housed for a day or two. Also need a doubles partner for smash 4.

Yes it is for March 7th. You can ask for housing and a doubles partner on the facebook event page.

The ZTD players had a hype time at the last one. There is certainly a lot of competition at these.

Pre-Registration page is now open at http://www.events2compete.com/e2c12/. For E2C 12 we will be running Smash 4 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 VIP's as well as Melee, Project M, and 64 1v1's. We have side games that we will run if 4 or more register and someone brings a setup which includes Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart 8, Pokemon X & Y, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Ultra Street Fighter IV, Injustice, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Mortal Kombat 9, and Skullgirls. All players and spectators will be provided with free food around noon and 7 pm. Make sure to register before 2/28 before the venue fee increases. If you have any questions, let us know.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't E2C having an event on the 28 of February?

How much is the cost for a spectator? Also, is it possible to get the discount for bringing a group of people? (I didn't get it back when I went in December)

Also what kind of food is included in the venue fee?

Spectators are $10 but get free food and can play games all day as well. We didn't actually have a tournament in December. Did you mean November or January? We don't do group discounts anymore because it was getting abused by some participants.

Our food options that we are thinking about now are a buffet of pasta, salad, chips and salsa, fries, and a few other options. We will confirm soon once that's all planned out.

I did mean November, sorry about that. How exactly were they abused? (I kinda figured they would be at one point, but I'm curious as to how).

How have the turnouts been for the last few tourneys?

Oh no problem. What kept happening was people would just group together in the line and ask for the discount, even if they didn't know each other. We took out most discounts besides the setup discount since we're already at max capacity now with our monthly tournaments. We're consistently getting 200+ players now attending.

OK, I registered for bothe Smash 4 and Melee. But looking back at the registration form, it says both tournaments end at the same time. What'll happen if I manage to make it to the Grand Finals of both?

The end time is just a prediction. It never works out that way but if it does, the TO's will tell you what to play and when so it won't be a problem.

Is it possible to sign up for 1-2 events online, then add a third one on the day of the tournament?

Yes but please indicate that on the form above the payment in the question asking what events you want to compete in. That way we can add you but take you out if you don't want to compete in that anymore which is easier than adding you at the door and figuring out seeding.

What if I can't decide between two people for 2v2s? as in, I won't know who will be my partner will be until much later (maybe the day of)

Also I'm having issues with paypal not accepting a credit card, what exactly can I do about that? (I'm worried about not getting the discount)

Not sure what to do in this situation. Try calling PayPal to do it on the phone. Could be their issue or an issue with your credit card.

Signups for each game are now on Challonge. All brackets are not final and not seeded. This is purely for everyone to see the turnout for each game and who is expected to be attending.
