General Rules
-Signups end 15 min. before the scheduled start time for each event (excluding pools). If you are running late and wish to be put in the bracket then you MUST call the venue and let the TO staff know!

-BYOC (Bring your own controller): Players are expected to bring their own controller and be prepared for every tournament set.

-For Smash, pause can be requested off and that request cannot be denied. If one pauses mid-match, the person who initiated the pause loses their current stock. If the pause causes the opponent to lose their stock (Such as interfering with recovery), the person who initiated the pause loses two stocks.

-You are responsible for your own belongings

-Coaching is allowed only between games, not during.

-Once your set is done the WINNER MUST IMMEDIATELY REPORT the results to the TO staff.

-DQ Rule: Arriving too late for a match will result in a DQ. Player(s) will have 5 minutes to show up before a loss of the SET. TO staff will not leave the venue to go searching for you so please be aware of how the tournament is progressing. MONEY MATCHES ARE NO EXCUSE TO HOLD UP THE TOURNAMENT. YOU WILL GET DQ’D IF YOU DON’T ARRIVE TO YOUR MATCH ON TIME.

Collusion of any kind with your competitors and/or sandbagging is considered forbidden. If the Tournament Director determines that any competitor is colluding to manipulate the results or intentionally underperforming, the collaborating players may be immediately disqualified. This determination is to be made at the sole discretion of the Tournament Director. Anyone disqualified in this manner forfeits all rights to any titles or prizes they might have otherwise earned for that tournament.

The TO reserves the right to deny payout from event winnings to any player suspected of intentionally throwing a match, splitting a payout, or committing any other form of bracket manipulation.

-Players may request that any texture, stage, or other hacks be disabled during a tournament set. If this is unable to be done, they may switch to a different setup if available.

-Players may NOT hold off their match in order to have it streamed/recorded unless first cleared with the TO staff.

Brawl Ruleset

* Player's Choice Clause: You may play by a rule outside of this ruleset if your opponent agrees to it as long as it does not deliberately delay the tournament process.
*3 stock, 8:00 minute timer
* Items OFF and set to NONE
* In doubles, team attack is set to ON, life stealing is allowed.
* Double elim. Best of 3 except Winners’ Finals, Losers’ Finals and Grand Finals matches which will be best of 5 format.
* Ties after the time limit are determined by stocks, then by percentage.
* If a match ends with both players dying at the same time resulting in Sudden Death, a 1-stock rematch will be played out on the same stage.
* If each player has one stock remaining and the match ends due to a suicide move the player who initiated the move wins.
* Meta Knight is NOT banned
* In doubles, double Meta Knight IS banned
* Meta Knight’s infinite dimensional cape tactic is banned.
* Chain grabs & infinites are legal. Stalling is NOT legal. Stalling is intentionally making the game unplayable: Such as becoming invisible, continuing infinites, chain grabs, or uninterrupted moves past 300%, and reaching a position that your opponent can never reach you.
* Any action that can prevent the game from continuing (freezing, disappearing characters, game reset, etc.) will result in forfeiture of the match for the player that initiated the action. You are responsible for knowing your own character and must be wary about accidentally triggering one of these effects.

* Starter stages: Battlefield, Final Destination, Lylat Cruise, Smashville, Yoshi's Island (Brawl)
* Counter-pick Stages: Battleship Halberd, Pokemon Stadium 1, Castle Siege

* First stage is decided by banning from the Starter Stages in P1-P2-P2-P1 order.
* Following stages decided by winner banning one stage and then loser choosing.
* Winning player is not locked into the same character for the next match, but has to pick before loser selects character.
* You may not choose a stage you have already won on unless mutually agreed to.
* Players who use the Wii Remote must take the batteries out of the Wii Remote when not playing. If the Wii Remote is still synced up to a Wii with the batteries in, you could unintentionally disrupt a match. If problems persist, a DQ may happen.

Smash 64 Ruleset
* Player's Choice Clause: You may play by a rule outside of this ruleset if your opponent agrees to it as long as it does not deliberately delay the tournament process.

*Game Settings
  • Mode: STOCK
  • Stocks: 5
  • Handicap: OFF
  • Team Attack: ON
  • Stage Select: ON
  • Damage: 100%
  • Item Switch: NONE
  • All Characters Available
  • All sets are best-of-3 except for the following which are best-of-5:
Winners Finals, Losers Finals, and Grand Finals

Stages

  • The Stage List consists of Congo Jungle, Peach’s Castle and Dream Land.
  • The first match is always Dream Land

Characters

  • All characters are legal.
  • For visibility reasons, players may request that Black DK (Right-C), Dark Samus (Down-C) and Dark Falcon
  • (Right-C) not be used if Congo Jungle is the stage. The opposing player may reset the match without
penalty if they wish for a color change. Taking or dealing any damage nullifies this right.

Set Procedure

  1. Players select characters for first match. Double Blind Picks may be called.
  2. The first match is played.
  3. The loser of the previous match selects the next match’s stage from the Starter Stage and Counter pick Stage Lists.
  4. The winner of the previous match selects their character.
  5. The loser of the previous match selects their character.
  6. The next match is played.
  7. Above four steps are repeated if necessary.
  8. Players may not counterpick to a stage they already won on that they picked themselves.

Additional Rules

  • Any stage may be played on if both players agree to it.
  • Alternate or custom controllers/adapters such as a keyboard, Gamecube controller or a Hori Mini Pad are allowed. Players suspected of using turbo functions or other macros are subject to immediate disqualification from the tournament.
  • If a player pauses without prior agreement from the other opponent, the opponent has the right to gain a stock or take away the pauser’s stock from the moment of the pause and begin a rematch where both players’ percentages are reset to zero. The opponent also has the option to simply force the pauser to forfeit a stock without restarting the match.
  • Extreme stalling is disallowed. Any reported case of such will result in a warning, followed by automatic forfeit of the match as per the discretion of the TO. If there is no movement from either player, the losing player is considered to be stalling.

Is there free parking near the venue? I've just used the meters/payboxes which is fine, but if there's a better option.

There's free parking on the sides of the building (Elmwood ave. and Rossel ave.) but they are limited to 2 hours i think.
There's also free residential parking behind the building past the alley (there's do not enter signs but I see ppl enter all the time).
Also across north ave. there's Nagle Ave. which also has free residential parking iirc.
