This will be a tournament for Super Smash Bros Melee only. I'm new to the T.O. business so if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.
Tournament cash prizes are based off of the number of entrants and the entry fee for each tournament.
Venue fee: $2 for participants, $0.50 for spectators.
1 vs 1 tournament payout-

2-7 entrants -> 1st (65%), 2nd (35%)
8-15 entrants -> 1st (55%), 2nd (30%), 3rd (15%)
16-23 entrants -> 1st (50%), 2nd (25%), 3rd (15%), 4th (10%)
24-31 entrants -> 1st (46%), 2nd (22%), 3rd (12%), 4th (10%), ties for 5th (5% each)
32+ entrants -> 1st (38%), 2nd (18%), 3rd (12%), 4th (10%), ties for 5th (7% each), ties for 7th (4% each)

Tournament Schedule:
2:00pm - Venue opens
2:45pm - Registration for 2v2 ends
3:00pm - 2v2 begins
5:00pm - Lunch break
5:45pm - Registration for 1v1 Low Tier ends
6:00pm - 1v1 Low Tier begins
7:00pm - Registration for classic 1v1 ends - begins in 15 min

Super Smash Bros. Melee 1v1, 2v2 and Low Tier tournament rules:
*Bracket is Double-Elimination, so you must lose two sets before you are out of the tournament.
*Tournament sets are best 2 out of 3. WInner's Finals, Loser's Finals, and Grand Finals are best 3 out of 5. The player coming from Loser's Bracket into Grand Finals must win two sets in a row in order to win the tournament. If we don't have enough setups or time, then all sets will be best of 3.
*Each match is played with time + stock - 4 stock and 8 minutes. In the event time runs out and both players have an equal amount of stocks, the player with less damage wins the match. If both players have equal stock and damage, the match must be replayed; Sudden Death is strictly not to be played.
*Friendly Fire (Team Attack) will be turned on, and players are allowed to steal lives from their teammates.
*Items are set to off.
*Pause will be turned off.
*For the first match, characters may be chosen double-blind - at the same time, so that neither player knows his opponent's character beforehand. You may choose to confirm your character choice beforehand with a third party. In practice, this rule is often ignored but players always reserve the option to force a double-blind pick.
*Players may choose to use stage-striking for their first match. Players strike in a 1-2-1 order from the list of neutral stages, and then play on the remaining stage. Players must use rock-paper-scissors(rps) to determine who strikes first or gets first port. If the winner of rps chooses to stage-strike first, rps loser gets first port and vice versa.
*Advanced slob picks are to be executed in the following order- The winner of the match may ban 1 stage, the loser chooses the stage, the winner chooses their character, then the loser chooses their character. The loser can pick either a neutral stage or a counterpick stage that they have not already won on in the set unless agreed to by both players. Stage striking does not apply to best-of-5 sets.
*For any match in the set, both players may opt to simply agree on a stage to play on.
*1v1 Stage List:
Neutrals: Final Destination, Battlefield, Yoshi's Story, Fountain of Dreams, Dreamland 64
Counterpick: Pokemon Stadium
*2v2 Stage List:
Nuetrals: Final Destination, Battlefield, Yoshi's Story, Dreamland 64, Pokemon Stadium
Counterpick: Kongo Jungle 64
*Low Tier Tournament will be Double-Elimination, best of 1.
*1v1 Low Tier Character List:
Young Link, Link, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Zelda(cannot transform into Sheik), Roy, Mewtwo, Mr. Game & Watch, Ness, Bowser, Pichu, Kirby

General Rules and Info:
*Please arrive on time and be punctual to tournament matches. If you need to use the restroom or if something comes up, please let one of the tournament organizers know. When your match is announced you will have 5 minutes to play against your opponent before you are given a loss for that round. This is to ensure everything runs smoothly and on time.
*Be sure to bring your own controller. Lending out your controller to someone is fine as long as you are on time to your match when it is called. If your opponent has waited more than 5 minutes, you will be given a loss for that round.
*Please show good sportsman like conduct. This is a tournament but above all we play the game because it's fun. Don't ruin someone else's day or your own by throwing a fit. Everyone loses games.
*Both players should report the results of who won/lost after a tournament set is complete.
*Be sure to get enough sleep and eat well before and during the tournament.
*Please bring small bills. $1 and $5 bills will greatly help with enabling a smooth admission process and speed up the distribution of prizes.
