McKendree University's Games Club is hosting a Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament. Registration is at 9:00 AM in the Residence Hall East Lounge. The tournament will go until completion. The venue fee will be waived for anyone who provides a game console, a copy of the game, and a CRT monitor (that we use for the tournament). Each participant should bring their own controller. It would be helpful if players could bring folding chairs. For more information or early registration, contact Games Club President Quinn McRoberts at qjmcroberts@mckendree.edu.

Price:
Registration Fee: $5
Melee Singles: $10
Doubles Fee: $10 (per team)

Prize Payout:
First Place: 60% of entry pool
Second Place: 30% of entry pool
Third Place: 10% of entry pool

An amateur bracket will be determined based on interest and attendance. If you would like an amateur bracket, contact Quinn McRoberts.

Alright, so here is the Melee Singles ruleset:
4 stocks
8 minutes
Items: off
Pause: off

Stage Set:
Final Destination
Battlefield
Yoshi's Story
Dream Land 64
Fountain of Dreams
Pokemon Stadium (counterpick only)

Best of Three sets: each player gets 1 stage ban

Best of Five sets: there are no stage bans

Double Blind: If a player opts for double blinds, you do double blinds.

Contest Port Priority: If the loser of the previous match opts to change his/her controller port, he/she can.

Neutral Start: If both players agree to a neutral start, then a neutral start can be in place.

Modified DSR: A player may not counterpick to the stage they last won on.

Gentleman's Clause: Any stage may be counterpicked to if both players agree. (overrides Modified DSR)

Matches that end in a time out will be determined by the remaining number of lives, then percentage of the current stock. In the event of a percentage tie, the match should be replayed in full.

And the Melee Doubles ruleset:
4 stocks
8 minutes
Items: off
Pause: off
Team Attack: On
Life Stealing is allowed.

If pause is on and the game is paused accidentally while attempting to steal a stock, the opposing team may deem that stock forfeit. To prevent this, wait until the announcer has finished saying defeated before pressing start.

Stage Set:

NOTE: No Jungle Japes this time around.

Best of Three Sets: Each team gets 2 stage bans. No one team can ban both counterpick stages.

Best of Five Sets: Each team gets 1 stage ban.

Double Blind: If a team opts for double blinds, you do double blinds.

Contest Port Priority: If the loser of the previous match opts to change their controller port, they can.
